Review: Excellent antenna, you will not find a better compact dual band WiFi antenna. - I made an array of 4 of these in 40 degree sectors to cover a campus of 7 cabins down in a canyon. These are connected to a Netgear AC1900 gaming router which is fed by a Viasat modem. I used these to upgrade from the prior mismatched set of 2.4 GHz antennas. There was nothing wrong with the 2 Amped Wireless 2.4 GHz 14 DBi antennas, but the 2 Cushcraft 9DBi antennas we're not up to the task. My first install of the antenna array placed the (Port4) -90 degree sector too close to the building and that attenuated the signal too much. I then mounted all 4 antennas onto a spare satellite dish mast I had, after which they worked terrifically. The surprise was that the cabin Port4 (Cushcraft antenna) was not even visable to the user. I turned out they were living off of the reflection from an adjact cabin with metal siding and was receiving it's signal from the sector on Port3. However, now they can see its signal directly and they report they get a 5 gigahertz signal they've never seen before! (At almost half strength) A quick word about data speed. Our satellite modem on its best day will only provide ~20mbps, so we really don't have a need for 5 GHz. However over the long distance, the noise and drop out rates will slow your typical 400mbps link speeds. Again no problem, except when our canyon is full of guests. And everyone shows up with their pads, phones and computers; they need to spread out or everyone slows down. In my cabin campus scenario above I also added range extenders in the farthest locations which resolved any of the last connection issues. Set up problems: I almost returned these antennas, but on my second round of installation I discovered one of the original cables' RF connector fell off in my hand. Yes I bought new cables to use with these antennas, but I was doing better or worse? A/B testing. I also discovered a brand new router I was trying to impliment had no-output on a particular critical channel I was trying to test. You can imagine during my A/B testing how this was impacting my results until I discovered the issue. On final cleanup of the installation, I also replaced the many ethernet cables that were at play. One goes off to a weather station, another goes off to a camera, etc. I am an RF engineer, and have professionally tested hundreds if not thousands of antennas in RF anacoic chambers and outdoor ranges. Before we could test any antenna we had to be sure every component inserted into the RF path was tested by itself be sure they were good. This is why I did the A/B testing, and why you should too! If you have a bad day with this antenna, be sure it's not something else contributing to the problem. I hope this review helps you understand and reduces your frustration if you have any. In closing, this antenna Kicks Butt!
Review: Excellent directional dual band WiFi antenna. Superb build quality. - Bravo TUPAVCO !! This antenna gives an excellent directional boost to 2.4 and 5GHz WiFi Signals. I have amateur and commercial FCC radio licenses and have purchased and built many antennas over the years. This is a nicely built and performing antenna. At WiFi frequencies exact antenna, connector and cable tolerances must be maintained. I'm using it as part of a 5GHz band WiFi Wireless Bridge from my garage to the house. This antenna is outside on the garage as seen in the photos. My wireless bridge router will also give 2.4GHz WiFi access through the bridge as well as to the ethernet connection ports. The signal increase was as advertised. On the 5GHz band (channel 153) my signal improved from -70dBm to - 50dBm using the Android version of the WiFi Analytics app by Netgear. In other words, the signal went from poor to excellent. As a result of the stronger signal the network speed increased from 100Mbps to 700Mbps . This compares the signal with standard omni-directional antennas vs with the TUPAVCO directional antenna replacing one of the omni antennas at the bridge side of the network. Although I didn't test the actual 2.4 band increase, it gave a significantly stronger signal on my cell phone WiFi through the wireless bridge. I'm very pleased with this considering the 50 foot distance and an outside wall with a glass sliding door between the host and bridge routers. The technical specifications provided in the box are impressive and backed by solid performance. The radome and housing are sturdy and weather-proof. It should last for many years. The hardware appears to be stainless steel with nuts, washers, lock washers, U-clamp, and bracket provided. The N-connector on the back is mounted solidly to the rear plate. The connecting cable is NOT provided - the kit only includes the antenna and mounting hardware , which is very reasonably priced for the excellent build quality and performance. I needed a 10 foot cable which will have some moderate signal loss. At 5GHz the coax cable must be as short as possible - and good quality - or the antenna gain will be lost in the cable. This is a specialized antenna that is highly recommended to those who need a directional gain antenna.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: will this work with Mac operating systems or only pc based systems?**
A: The antenna is connected to your router so the operating system of the computer is irrelevant

**Q: Battery powered?**
A: This is the antenna ONLY, it has to be connected to another wifi device (card/access point/repeater). There is no power requirements for this device, what you are asking would be for the device this antenna connects to.

**Q: My Asus Router has three removable antennas. Does it matter which one is replaced with this panel antenna?**
A: If you router is dual frequency (2.5/5GHz), each antenna is rated for both frequency. I used middle one of the three. You can replace anyone with direct antenna. Very important, point directly toward area you want to target (straight beam like X), it is not Omnidirectional (circular beams). Good Luck.

**Q: Will this boost the weak wifi signal from the RV park that we go to that is about 400 ft away from our camper?**
A: That is exactly what I use it for, and it works great. I have it connected to my Ubiquiti Bullet M2, so just make sure you have the correct connectors/cables to connect this antenna to the device you want to use the signal with.
