Perfect!
The Bug Bite Thing suction tool is one of those simple products that really surprised me with how effective it is. I was skeptical at first, but it genuinely helps reduce itching and irritation from mosquito bites and other insect stings when used correctly. It’s very easy to use and works without any chemicals, which I really appreciate. The suction mechanism is straightforward, and after applying it, I noticed a significant reduction in itching within a short time. For something so small and simple, it can make a big difference in comfort. The compact size also makes it convenient to keep in a drawer, backpack, or travel bag, so it’s always available when needed. It feels sturdy and reusable, which adds to its overall value for money since you’re not constantly buying treatments or creams. I also like that it’s safe for both adults and kids, making it useful for family outings, camping, or just everyday summer use. It’s especially helpful for those who react strongly to bites and want quick relief without medication. Overall, this is a clever, practical, and highly effective tool for insect bite relief. It does exactly what it promises and has become a must-have in my household. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who spends time outdoors.

I adore this thing, in spite of my face hickey (it was my fault)
This is the second one I have bought for our household. I won’t go outside without it. We are recent transplants to Florida, and these are the meanest mosquitoes I’ve ever met. Sure, the Louisiana mosquitoes are the size of hummingbirds, but they’re not real go-getters unless you’re in the swamp. These Florida mosquitoes are sociopathic. Insanely aggressive and their bites are nasty and itchy. AND THEY ARE IN OUR BACKYARD! Two days ago I was in the yard and was attacked by a gang of these creatures. They dive-bombed me from all angles and chomped down on me more or less simultaneously. Side note: At the same time I learned that “natural” bug repellent made with essential oils might work on less ambitious mosquitoes, but it didn’t work with these. I ran inside to avoid further attack and grabbed the Bug Thing. I had a huge bite on my forehead (one of 12 bites in total), and it itched like crazy. I didn’t want to do to my face what I did to my arm a few years ago, scratching like a maniac while I slept and ending up with a scarred arm and blood-stained sheets. So I busted out the Bug Thing. In my eagerness to get rid of the itching, and because the bite was big, I kept the suction going for a long time. Too long, as it turns out. I didn’t read the instructions with our first Bug Thing, because it seemed self-explanatory, but the devil’s always in the details, isn’t it? Turns out, there’s a big fat warning about not using it on your face. Who knew? (Everyone who read the instructions, but not the girl with the big purple circle on her forehead.) I regret NOTHING. This thing works amazingly well, and so what if I have a quarter-sized love bite on my forehead? Big whoop. THE BUG THING IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE ITCHING. Bruises go away; scars from fingernails, not so much. Another word of advice: I bought several of a knock-off brand, thinking, “It’s a plastic barrel with a plunger, how hard could it be to replicate?” I guess fairly hard, because the knock-offs were flimsy and I couldn’t really get a good vacuum with them. I mean, I guess I wouldn’t have been able to suck a ridiculous bruise to the surface of my face with one of the knock-offs, but I probably wouldn’t have been able to suck the itch juice out of my skin, either. I’d much rather have a bruise than a bite. Anyway, this thing is awesome, just don’t use it on your face…or do. I would100% do it again.

Surprisingly effective for mosquito bites — great for the whole family
I was skeptical about the Bug Bite Thing at first, but after using it several times on fresh mosquito bites, I have to admit — it actually works. It’s a simple suction tool that pulls out irritants like saliva or venom left behind by bugs, and it really does reduce swelling and itchiness if you use it right after getting bitten. The tool is compact, easy to clean, and safe for kids and adults. It’s painless, though the suction feels a little weird at first. I’ve used it on mosquito bites and minor bee stings with noticeable relief within minutes — especially on those bites that normally swell up and itch like crazy for days. A few tips: Use it ASAP after the bite for best results. Don’t over-suction — it can leave a small red mark if you hold it too long. Doesn’t work as well on older bites or tick bites. Pros: Drug-free, chemical-free relief Works quickly when used immediately Safe for all ages Reusable and travel-friendly Cons: Requires some trial and error to use properly Not effective on all types of bites (e.g., spider or old bites) Can leave temporary redness if overused Overall, this is a great tool to have on hand, especially if you’re outdoors a lot or have kids who attract every mosquito in a 10-mile radius. It’s not a miracle cure, but it really helps take the edge off bites without the need for creams or meds. 👍 If this review helped, feel free to click “Helpful” — I always appreciate it!

Effective, but needs better design for high-stress situations
I’m a repeat buyer—this is my second Bug Bite Thing because the plastic on the first one eventually broke. I recently had to use it in a hurry when my daughter was stung by a wasp. It does work; I successfully pulled liquid from the site, and her pain eased noticeably once the suction was applied correctly. However, there is a major design flaw: there are no instructions on the device itself. When you’re in a frenzy trying to help a child who was just stung, you don’t have time to go find the original packaging or look up a manual. It’s an effective tool, but the manufacturer really needs to print simple, step-by-step icons or instructions directly onto the device. You only ever use this when you’re in a panic, so clarity and accessibility matter.

Awesome product!!!@
I HIGHLY recommend this product if you have kids who like to play outside. Regardless of how much bug spray I use my granddaughter always ends up with a ton of bites!! Tired of paying for expensive creams I decided to try this product. Even though some of her bites were several days old it worked like a charm!!! It doesn't make the bites go away but definitely relieved most of her itching. It is reusable so is a cheaper and safer alternative to medicine.

Worth the money, works great
Product is excellent. I got stung 3 times by yellow jackets the day after this arrived. Normally I would swell up in a few hours and itch bad. Used both the large and small suction for 20 second. A little discomfort from the bite but no swelling or itching.

Bite who
I would recommend this product over and over again. It’s honestly a genius idea. I’m very allergic to mosquito bites, and this suction tool has been a game changer. By removing the venom, it stops the itching, swelling, bruising, and pain before they become a problem. I might have a little redness where I used it, but it fades quickly. Even if you don’t catch the bite right away, it still works. As soon as I feel a bite starting to itch, I use the suction tool, and within minutes the itching is gone. I no longer deal with the large swollen welts I used to get. I absolutely swear by this product. I’m allergic to so many things, so I’m usually skeptical, but this actually works. I’d happily be an advocate for this product because it’s made such a difference for me.

Stopped working after a few uses.
Seemed to work the first few times I used it. Hard to say as when using on mosquito bites you don’t see anything drawn out of the bite… but it did seem to lessen the itching and time of irritation. But, I went to use it again today (maybe my third time in a month of owning) and the suction ability is gone. I followed all of the steps for care and cleaning, but it no longer functions. Update! I found a hairline crack in the side of the cap that is interfering with the ability to keep suction. Too bad… seems to be a common issue.

Surprenant
