The theme was obviously Tron and futuristic/space. I read a LOT of negative reviews regarding these items, but it was the cheapest option. It was actually my only option. I was very scared, but, I gotta say the seller and the item came through for me. This IS NOT as fragile as other comments make it seem. As long as you don't bend them (and I mean BEND as folding it almost flat) they will not break. I did shapes, I curved them over sufaces, even dropped some of them and stepped on them, and the still work. You do not need to solder, but you will need to at least to peel and twist cables, then cover the unions with electrical tape. They work on 12V (car battery), so if you need to connect them to a wall autlet, you will need to attach the inverter (included) and a 12V transformer (not included). You can attach about 5 or 6 EL Tape 1meter extensions per transformer. The result was GREAT looking. Much more luminiscent and bright than what I was expecting. Even with the convention center lighting. Long lasting.
