Slightly more torque, and better shift points in the transmission make the vehicle more fun to drive. Worth it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very pleasantly surprised *by L***E on Reviewed in the United States on 2 December 2016* Just installed my new Hypertech Max Energy in my 2005 Silverado z71 extended cab with the 5.3. Installation was very easy. I did review the instructions online prior to installing. I got en error to start off but the fix was to just unplug and plug the programmer back in per the instructions on the screen. I added the following tuning. I did the extreme regular unleaded tune. Raised my rev limiter to 5,800. Changed my tire size to 32.25 to match my new BFGs. Changed the 1-2 shift up 100 rpm, changed the 2-3 shift up 500 rpm, ( the stock shift point for the 2-3 was 5,000 which was way too low as it dropped the revs down too far out of the power band after the shift) and I changed the 3-4 up 100 rpm. I chose to firm up the shifts to the 75% level. I also raised my top speed to 106 mph. I left the cooling fan cut on at the same temperature. Now it's hard to quantify how much power this makes but it definitely is more. Also the shift points make a huge difference in how the truck accelerates. The shifts just happen at a better time and they are quicker and more positive feeling. The truck easily reaches the new top speed, surprisingly easy! I did install a Flowmaster supertruck style cat back exhaust about a month ago so I don't know how much these two work together but wheel spin will happen if I don't take it easy. I did a quick errand run on a freeway trip and got 15.5 MPG running at or near 100 almost the entire time. which is about 2 mpg better than before. But obviously that is too short a distance to be very scientific or accurate but it's what I got. The one negative I can think of after this short time with the programmer is the top speed limiter kicks in very hard, almost feels like I stabbed the brakes. For $290ish dollars this added a lot of fun to my old Chevy. Will tow 6,000 pounds with it this weekend. I will update if anything negative comes up. ### ⭐⭐⭐ This did work with my 2004 Corvette *by M***E on Reviewed in Canada on 12 July 2021* After installing the program I didn't notice much change at all in the shifting of the automatic. The main thing I wanted was for the shifting to be much firmer, causing the tired to "chirp" when shifting to second gear, etc. I set the programmer to 100%, the maximum firmness available, and was disappointed. It seems to shift a bit firmer, but nowhere near what a shift kit or other Diablo programmer in my previous 02 Z28 would do.
