The Confer Step-1 aboveground step system is for above ground pools with a flat bottoms. The Step-1 has a large flat steps, gray steps for high visibility in water, has improved base system and a side openings allow water circulation behind unit to inhibit algae growth. The Confer Step-1 is easy, snap together installation and economical, yet strong, holds 400 pounds! **Note: For Flat bottom, above ground pools only and 40 lb of sand required for installation!** 2 Anchor Sand Weights and Ladder Pad Included!

The steps themselves seem very sturdy but you will want to pass on this package as there is no way to use the weights because there is no cross member of any type to connect them to. So you will have to fill the steps with the sand/small rocks for the weight. The mat seems very durable and will protect the liner.

Steps are a big improvement over the ladder that came with the pool. We did have to engineer a way to attach the 2 sand weights to the steps. But a few long zip ties later, the steps are being well used.....lol
