A: Yes. You can set the Epson Expression 12000XL to scan multiple photos at the same time or create marquees manually to separate them. Hope this helps! - The Epson Team

**Q: Will this scanner produce a high quality 11x17 scan at 300 or 400 dpi?**
A: Easily! It will scan up beyond 1200dpi and the resulting images are grand. I sugges the files be saved as TIFF for the better resolution that gives. You will not be disappointed!

**Q: Is this suitable for artwork, such as markers, pastels, watercolor, etc?**
A: Yes!  I have had great results with it.  I had a micro tech for many years.  I loved it but it finally gave out on me.  The new ones are ridiculously expensive and their customer service is sub-par.  I needed a lg. flatbed and decided to go with epson.  I've had Epson printers for 20+ years and they are always reliable.  I'm very happy with this scanner.

**Q: Is the lid removable to scan a painting in stages?**
A: The lid is easily removed. But there's a large button which the lid depresses when it's closed and this button will interfere with scanning oversize flat pieces. I use a piece of masking tape to hold it down and then scan large sheets easily.
