Wow this auger is the only way to go. Talk about drilling a hole through the ice with ease. I use the 8in and I have not one complaint. The Average thicknesses of ice on the lakes I fish is 24in or better and it has Plenty of battery life for most to find fish. Unless your running around looking for the big school drilling hundreds of holes across and back and forth the lake all day then you might want to get two batterys. Quite,light weight and no gas smell on you or in the ice shack. I'll never go back to a gas auger. If I had to ? My daughter's husband went out and bought the same auger after using mine. I've had strikemaster gas jiffy propane and my brother has the new strikemaster electric and by far I think this is the best hands down. I charged it fully and took it out several times at about 1500 plus inches later the battery had finally died out! I have about 7 inches here in southern Michigan. On the review on the clogging up on the bottom. Yes it will like any other auger when it's below zero. I guarantee this is why. Mine did the first time this past weekend with below weather. Normal for my past 25 years of ice fishing. I would recommend this to anyone looking for light weight, quiet and quick fishing with no worries.
