I have been drinking iced tea (unsweetened) for over 40 years and having the right tea to brew is equally important as having the right brewer. I've used many systems for brewing iced tea over the years, but when I discovered the Takeya... my search stopped! Short of using an industrial grade brewing machine (which I don't have room for in my kitchen) this will brew the best iced tea you have ever had!It's been years since I discovered this and own three - during the hot months, we go through a lot of tea. The simplicity of use is part of what makes it such a great iced tea maker. It's best if you are using loose tea and already know about how much to brew. It might take a little experimenting with your favorite tea(s) with amount and time, but once you have that figured out, you will be set! We brew at least one of these 2 quart containers a day.The filter that comes with it is very sturdy and doesn't clog as long as you give it a quick rinse after using. And you can twist off the handle if you want to give this a thorough cleaning once in awhile. I haven't tried brewing sun tea using the Takeya, but I imagine that works well also. But we just boil our water, add the loose tea in the infuser and place inside for your desired taste. Remove, add ice and instantly you have fresh brewed iced tea.The container is BPA free and very sturdy. I've replaced one over the years for a crack, but that one we certainly got many years of use from.
