Probably two years ago, I re-read, after many years, 'Trading in the Zone' by Mark Douglas and I was blown away (it seems I needed a sufficient level of experience to really appreciate its content) and, at that time, I was convinced it was the only trading psychology book a trader needed (and I've read a lot of them). It’s completely logical, easy to understand, and even easier to implement (or so I thought). However, it turns out that how I needed to view the market and, particularly, trading execution, was incredibly difficult to implement, due to the emotions that rise up during the trading process. Even to the point of knowing what not to do, and being unable to stop yourself from doing it (or is that just me?). Enter Jared Tendler’s book 'The Mental Game of Trading' - and how timely it has been (“when the student is ready……” and all that). Anyway, what this book delivers, big-time, is in helping the reader to identify where their psychological issues lie and, more importantly, provides an easy-to-understand model as to how to tackle them.
