**Q: Can the blade be sharpened?**
A: The main blade can be unscrewed and easily removed for sharpening on a stone.  With that said, the julienne blades, I think, would be next to impossible to sharpen.  I have been using my Benriner mandoline quite regularly for about 20 years and have noticed no tendency for them to become dull.  If I find my julienne blades getting dull in the future, I will just buy replacements.

A: Regarding Kurt's reply, that is incorrect.  You can buy replacement main blades.

Dal punto di vista della lama, della qualità costruttiva, della forma e della comodità di utilizzo non si discute, queste mandoline giapponesi sono le migliori. Da fare attenzione al formato perché ne esistono almeno tre dimensioni, differenti soprattutto per larghezza, quindi bisogna riflettere bene quale può far meglio al proprio caso. Comunque con questo formato che è il più piccolo ci affetto praticamente tutto; le melanzane larghe ad esempio basta dividerle in due prima di affettarle.
