Review: Great reader for this price - I recently had my previous CAC reader go down, which left me in a pinch to say the least. It was less than a year old, so I looked into other readers and found this one. I have had 3 readers thus far, and of the 3, this one so far seems the better of them. The first lasted less than a year, the second I had trouble getting to read my card, but this one, I dropped my card straight in and it took right off, no trouble at all. I hope this one lasts a good long time. I intend on getting a backup in the near future (naturally no stores near me sell them and the closest is 3 hours away) and intend on ordering a second of this reader.

**Q: Does this device read/scan all military id?**
A: The ID card must have a chip in it, because it is a CAC reader. This will not read family members ID card or a retiree ID card as they do not come with the chip.   it will not read all ID cards

**Q: will this work with windows 10?**
A: Yes, I use it with windows 10

**Q: Will this allow you to login to ako with a cac card?**
A: Yes, though may still need to install some stuff depending on your version of Windows.

**Q: Is this card reader plug and play?**
A: I bought this reader for my son who is in the Military. It works perfect for him. He said it was very easy to use. Simply plug it in.

Easy to plug and play. Works with my DOD military ID card with no issues. I don't have a CD drive on my laptop to use with the included driver disc, but I found simple instructions on the disc that led me to their website, where I was able to get the drivers and install in a pinch. Very easy to use and highly recommended for the discounted price that this sells for.
