Vive Walker Ski Glide Covers 4 PCS - Accessories for Folding Walkers

My husband‘s walker was tearing up our Pergo floors. It’s those “ski” feet. In desperation, I tried these covers. They work! And they’re standing up to our garage cement floor too. There’s a trick in how you need to put these covers on though. They’re very stout and sturdy. They do stretch, but they’re stronger than most people’s hands! The trick, is to get a pair of pliers. Not the needle nose, but the sort of flatter ends. I call them “regular pliers.” Put the front of the cover over the ski nose that curls up. And get a grip with those pliers on the heel of this cover. It takes some strength, but with the help of the pliers, you’ll be able to pull very hard so that the heel goes over the back of that ski foot. I’m loosing the strength in my hands now, but I was able to do it. It just takes a little persistence. It’s well worth it. These covers protect your floors, and I thought they were well worth the price. You get two sets so when one set wears out, you’ve got another set to put on those hard plastic ski feet.

We have vinyl flooring through the house. They work well in the house to prevent scratches on the floor as the skids get worn. They do collect dust and pet hair, however, that gets rubbed off on to the rug and door jam as my husband walks out the door. It’s no big deal in our situation, but might be for someone else who uses area rugs.

The covers are sturdy and glide well. They are difficult to put on the gliders without pliers as they fit so tightly . In my opinion , it takes someone with very strong hands to put them on. That said, they are well made and do the job they are meant to do, protect the floors.

I will buy these again soon. One pair lasts about a year before the felt wears off and you are down to sticky rubber. They are very tight to get on (a flat dull thin tool would help. A sharp screwdriver might cut them), but they stay on well. If you only have one walker, determine if it will be an inside or outside walker. Once you put on the slippers, it is for inside only. The slippers don’t pop on and off easily, and any rough surface (concrete, asphalt) will chew them to pieces in minutes. They glide on linoleum and hardwood smoothly, quietly, and won’t damage floors. The picture shows the old ones with the bottom felt worn off from normal use.

Previously purchased the Vive walker ski glides with covers. Worked great but the covers were wearing through fairly quickly with only indoor use. No problem. Not expensive. Thus, I ordered this four piece set of replacement covers. Tried to put on the replacements today and they do not fit. Same brand. Supposed to fit. Way too small. They look the same from photos but apparently the replacements are not made to the same spec. Need them NOW so gave in and ordered another set of the same skis with covers but disappointing and the replacement cover order was a waste of money.

Great idea & I like that they don't scratch the floor. That being said only gave 3 stars due to the fact, they don't fit over the entire sled. They are too small to completely cover the bottom of sled.

These are great for helping to protect hard wood floors from the feet of a walker. They do get dirty b/c they pick up dust and in our case, cat hair. I just used the attachment for my vacuum to clean them off. It is a little tough to get them on, but once on the walker, they are great. We have not had them slip off.

These are a great invention for the Zimmer frame! My elderly mother loves using the zimmer frame now and my floor doesn't get scratched which is a win win
