## Description

Looking for a Cat6 or Cat6A shielded RJ45 plug that is:Hassle-FreeWell documentedANSI/TIA 568 Certified...tested with cable in the real world by installers?Look no further, as you just found your plug!Our shielded Cat6/6A RJ45 plugs are designed to be used with shielded (F/UTP) Ethernet cables, both stranded and solid conductors, but can also be used on unshielded (U/UTP) cable. The pass through design is where your frustration level will come down and success rate will increase. If you’ve ever dealt with the old style push-in or push-in with load bar plugs, then you know what we mean. Designed for maximum cable shield electrical contact. The inside rear of the plug is metal, so there’s no need to remove the foil.After stripping the cable jacket off, wrap the drain wire around the cable jacket and fold the cable shield backward over it. Untwist and comb out the individual conductors. Line up the conductors into the correct T568A or T568B color sequence and push them through the nose of the connector. Everything look good? If the wiring sequence is still correct, now pull. Use the push-pull method to help eliminate kinking of the conductors inside the plug and get the cable jacket up as far as possible into the rear of the connector. The further up you can get the cable into the plug, the more crosstalk is reduced. Using our V2 all in one crimp and termination tool, terminate the plug and then crimp the external ground tab. Excess conductors are shaved off automatically. Remove excess foil shielding at the rear of the plug. Onto the next one.With heavy duty thick outdoor shielded cable exceeding ∅7.30mm OD, you will need to gently “ovalize” the end of the cable for the last 0.75” using the oval cutout in small/standard lineman’s electrical pliers. This is to size the end of the cable to fit inside the plug. Don’t crush the cable flat.

Review: For the record, I've done thousands of twisted pair terminations. BLUF: There are better designs out there. This would not be my first choice. The good: These work fairly reliably and consistently test OK including the shielding. The bad: Getting the wires pushed through is a real chore. The design of these did not even consider making it easy to get the wires in. They went minimalist to give them only what was needed to do the job. When you're pushing the wires in, they always get hung up on the metal to plastic transition. They could have made it such that the plastic extends much further back so the wires don't catch. Then, there's getting the wires into their respective holes. These are simply holes at the end. There is no guide rail or anything else to help keep the wires in order and into their respective holes. More often than not, these push the insulation back to expose the copper wire just enough to make a poky barb that will hang up on the plastic. This will make you clip small amounts off the end repeatedly. These seem to be sized for CAT-6A and do not seem to work with CAT-8 due to thicker wire insulation. Boots and copper strips were not included with these- you must purchase those separately.

For the record, I've done thousands of twisted pair terminations. BLUF: There are better designs out there. This would not be my first choice. The good: These work fairly reliably and consistently test OK including the shielding. The bad: Getting the wires pushed through is a real chore. The design of these did not even consider making it easy to get the wires in. They went minimalist to give them only what was needed to do the job. When you're pushing the wires in, they always get hung up on the metal to plastic transition. They could have made it such that the plastic extends much further back so the wires don't catch. Then, there's getting the wires into their respective holes. These are simply holes at the end. There is no guide rail or anything else to help keep the wires in order and into their respective holes. More often than not, these push the insulation back to expose the copper wire just enough to make a poky barb that will hang up on the plastic. This will make you clip small amounts off the end repeatedly. These seem to be sized for CAT-6A and do not seem to work with CAT-8 due to thicker wire insulation. Boots and copper strips were not included with these- you must purchase those separately.
