is this good for friendship bracelets?

It is thin thread - not nearly as thick as embroidery floss, so I'm afraid it would be difficult for friendship bracelets. You may be able to use multiple threads of each color, but that may make it tricky to work with.

what is the thread weight?

It doesn't say on either the packaging or the spool. It just says 100% polyester. I used it for a pre-printed free motion quilting practice piece, and it worked fine for that.

Endlich reißt kein Faden mehr :-)

Was habe ich geflucht beim Nähen mit Billiggarn! Nun habe ich es mit dem überall empfohlenem Garn von Gütermann probiert und nähte und nähte bis zu später Stunde. Mir ist dieser Faden noch kein einziges Mal gerissen, höchstens aus der Nadel geschnippt, weil er zu locker gespannt war. Und diese Farben sind wirklich sehr hübsch. Kräftige Pastelltöne. Ich bin mehr als zufrieden! Ab sofort gebe ich doch lieber ein bisschen mehr für den Faden aus, als dass mir die Geduld und der Billigfaden reißt :-)
