I bought it for a kitchen outlet where I have a big old fashioned stereo set plugged in. Also, I use this same outlet for a heater in winter and a fan in summer. I felt I had better use a surge protector for safety and to protect these things. The Holsem is perfect. There are two lights at the one end of the power strip that clearly display on/off and show that the surge protector is operating. The added bonus is the two charging ports at the other end of the power strip. This comes in handy when I have sleepover guests who have to charge their gadgets. The Holsem is sturdy, well made and it is attractive. A pack of batteries are included with the purchase. I will be purchasing another one for my bedroom. I highly recommend the Holsem. Review: The Clever Marketing Team at Holsem ... - I bought my first Holsem 5 Outlet Surge Protector during a Prime Day deal. That was pretty clever of Holsem to offer that deal, because now we're addicted to these well built, sturdy power strips. My husband, who really doesn't get impressed easily, liked the strip immediately and we had two more of them on the way within a week. These really are everything they are advertised to be. The usb plugs are a fantastic perk because I don't have to dig for a wall adapter and they charge quickly. Plus I don't have to block a plug charging my phone. The strips themselves are just fantastic little tanks that will probably end up replacing all of the power strips in our house. They are really well made. Highly recommended.

Super functional, very well made
I purchased two of these and really like them for how well made they are. Definitely quality you can see and feel, along the lines of a Belkin, etc. I like that you can nail it to a wall and still has a very large button for on/off, so you can easily access it if it was in fact nailed up at arms reach. Great design thought and great product.

It works fairly well. I was disappointed that the USB plugs weren't fast charge as they claimed. They take 2x as long as it would for me to just use a wall adapter. Which is fine for over night charging, it takes about 6 hours to fully charge my phone when it normally takes 3 hours for my cell with a wall plugin. I haven't noticed any issues with the on/off switch, however mine only stays on. I toggled it and it seemed fine. Will update if anything changes. 4 stars due to the slow charge for the USB

Brilliant!
Very sturdy and having the USB ports is a real plus. Easy to turn the entire thing off when needed. Cord could be a bit longer, it doubt anyone's is. Good value for the money and I feel safe with its protection.

Small and functional
Finally a true surge protector small enough to place behind a MacBook Pro. I had given away the only surge protector I owned because it overwhelmed my tiny work area and I'd been using only a power strip. What a relief to find great surge protection in a small, 5-outlet model. I can even directly charge the cell phone at the USB end, thus eliminating another bit of bulk. There is a larger model available on Amazon. So, whichever size fits your needs, I do highly recommend HOLSEM.

Wonderful
I purchased one of these for my home to place in my "comfort zone" so that I can plug in my computer, charge my phones and my iPad without leaving the chair! I now take it on every family visit I make in case the home I am staying in doesn't have enough outlets. I have since bought two for my parents home. They work very well.

USB port fail to charge several devices, despite compatible power specs
I'm a bit disappointed with this HOLSEM power strip. On the one hand, I got it on a Lightning Deal and it cost the same or less as your typical power strip without USB jacks would cost in a big box store, so it "works" fine for that purpose. But the power switch button is wobbly/loose for no good reason, and could easily be turned off by accident. More significantly, the USB charging ports don't work for every device. They spec out at 5V, 2.4A, which should charge pretty much every smartphone, tablet, or music player on the market. But while it charges my iPhone 6s just fine (and fairly quickly), my iPod Classic 160GB and Sony PS Vita do not charge at all. They don't even register that a power cable is attached. By comparison, I have an Aukey little cube wall charger with 2 USB outputs for $9, and it quickly charges all of my devices. So, I now have to remember to plug certain devices into the USB port, and then plug the wall charger in to the power strip for others, which kind of defeats the purpose. It's not a fully wasted purchase, but I would definitely look elsewhere if you plan on charging a wide variety of devices with the USB ports. It's hit or miss if they will work.
