Each time I was out of town, but I brought the vehicle to my mechanic when I returned. Each time and was told that the code was one of the most difficult for the vehicle to clear on its own and was probably caused by the capless gas filler "door" failing to close fully. My mechanic suggested that I clear the code, drive the vehicle for at least 100 miles, and if the check engine light illuminate again that a repair may be necessary. Each time I drove the vehicle for a few thousand miles and the check engine light remained off - except for the three specific instances. I had one earlier, OBD1, first generation computer reader. That one seems ancient compared to this one. Since retiring I'm driving the wheels off my vehicles, so one of my vehicles at the age that I experienced my first "Check Engine" light. It runs fine, but being an x-automotive powertrain engineer, I understand the need to know and repair. I researched and shopped code readers, checked Amazon Prime and came across this one. The description covered all I was looking for and the price surprising. What a deal! I used it within a few minutes after receiving and quickly scanning the instructions. The readout provided the code, description and location. In my case the code number, Camshaft Position Solenoid Valve, Intake. Awesome! I found the parts on Amazon Prime, changed both intake & exhaust solenoid valves, plus ordered plugs since the solenoid valves located next to #1 plug.
