Die Komponenten sind in Polystyrol sicher gelagert und zum Schutz zusätzlich in Polsterfolie verpackt. Bereits beim Auspacken überzeugen Material und Verarbeitungsqualität. Zunächst müssen die Haupteinheit (184 x 123 x 228mm) mit Netzkabel und Wurfantenne komplettiert und die zwei Lautsprecher (je 10 Watt - 139 x 224 x 136) per Klick-Verbinder angeschlossen werden. Für die Fernbedienung wird eine AA-Batterie benötigt, die sich nicht im Lieferumfang befindet. Die vergleichsweise kurz gefasste Schnellstart-Anleitung lässt viele Fragen offen. Daher empfiehlt es sich, dem enthaltenen Link bzw. QR-Code zu folgen und die ausführliche Bedienungsanleitung (14 Seiten) von der Panasonic-Support-Seite herunterzuladen und auszudrucken. Dass diese Anleitung (im Allgemeinen wird dafür als Begründung das Deckmäntelchen Umwelt verwendet) nicht mitgeliefert wird, ist angesichts der für dieses eher traditionelle Radio avisierten Zielgruppe Ü60 schon ärgerlich, da entsprechende Internet-Fähigkeiten und Möglichkeiten kaum zwangsläufig vorauszusetzen sind. Übrigens befindet sich die Anleitung auch auf der Amazon-Seite (Version weiß!) als Download-Möglichkeit - Deutsch Seiten 1-14. Die Inbetriebnahme funktioniert nach Betätigen des Einschalters sehr schnell. Das CD-Laufwerk ist sofort bereit und mit den bekannten Tasten am Gerät oder über die Fernbedienung zu betätigen. Ebenso kann ein USB-Stick an der Front eingesteckt werden. Das Bluetooth-Pairing ist für insgesamt 8 Geräte möglich - dann wird das zuerst verbundene Gerät gelöscht. Einige Worte mehr sind zu FM und DAB+ notwendig. Das Radio kann automatisch einen Scan der empfangbaren DAB-Sender bzw. FM-Sender ausführen und übernimmt dabei auch Datum und Uhrzeit. Allerdings ist die manuelle Abspeicherung deutlich sinnvoller und in der ausführlichen Anleitung verständlich beschrieben. Für DAB stehen dabei 20 Favoriten-Speicherplätze zur Verfügung, für FM sogar 30. Da ein simples Umsortieren nicht möglich ist und bei automatischem Scan auch Sender mit schlechtem Empfang gespeichert werden, ist manuell in jedem Falle empfehlenswert. Die Klangqualität der Lautsprecher ist gut und insbesondere für kleinere Räume geeignet. Die Fernbedienung ist sehr kompakt und lässt hinsichtlich komfortabler Bedienung insbesondere beim Radiobetrieb schon einige Wünsche offen. Beispielsweise ist eine numerische Direktwahl der gespeicherten Favoriten nicht möglich. Die leichtgewichtige Panasonic-Kompaktanlage im klassischen Design hat ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Das Fehlen der notwendigen Betriebsanleitung in gedruckter Form ist ärgerlich - führt jedoch wegen sonstiger Zufriedenheit nicht zum Stern-Abzug.
