I haven't tried to push the weight limit, but it does hold my keys firmly enough but easy to grab on the way out the door for work. The 6-pack that I purchased gives me more than enough to set up a couple of key points in the house to place my keys if I wanted. So far I've only really used 2 from the pack. I have one by my front door at home and then I found out my work cubical sidewall has a space that could accommodate a normal size screw used in common light switch plates that I was able to put one in place there. It's easy to install, just replace the screw already in the light switch plate and your good to go-- I was worried I might not be able to unscrew it later, but it is easy to remove as well if needed. We only have one key and didn't want something bulky or extravagant for a car key. This is a simple yet effective product. Holds up one car key and I am positive the magnet is strong enough to securely hold a second. The magnet is also an actual screw that replaces the previous plate screw.
