The last time, with both bulbs the glass part twisted off and I had to remove bases and shrapnel with needle-nose pliers. The emitted light is soft, exactly as a night-light should be. After all, who wants a spotlight under the microwave? On the Amazon website for this product, it was clear that on the "low" setting there would be flickering but so far I am flicker-free. I would not have a problem leaving the lights on the "high" setting and then pushing the on-off switch to extinguish. I have a GE SpaceSaver, circa 2001, and it seems that these bulbs are a perfect match for this unit.I do have a question which I have sent via email to ATMOS and asked on this forum: does the soft, clear plastic sleeve around the filaments come off prior to installation? I started to remove it but it seems glued in place. Works properly as a replacement for our under microwave/over-stove bulbs. Easy to install. Not the seller's fault, but the description says Warm White (2700K-3000K). My wife and I find them to be much more bluish or pure white than 2700K which typically has the yellowish and softer color of incandescent lighting. I noticed that the box which held each bulb said warm white. Not a bright light like the LED sewing machine light I have. Plus, the color of the light is strange - definitely not white.
