The Teric includes open-circuit and closed- circuit Air, Nitrox and Trimix multi-gas functionality along with a three-axis tilt-compensated digital compass. It has Recreational, Gauge, Freediving, Open-Circuit Tech and Closed-Circuit/Bail-Out modes. The Teric is also very configurable; for example you can set a button to give you a single press access to different tools like compass, stopwatch, countdown timer, etc. There are haptic (vibration) and audible alarms that can be disabled (none, either, both) to prevent annoying other divers in the vicinity. The Teric offers an information screen utilizing a {1.39 in | 35 mm} full color AMOLED display with a {Diameter x Height | 55mm x 18mm} body and {4.25 oz | 120.4 g} weight. The Teric can provide time-to-surface based on 'look ahead' at planned gas switches. Multiple gas definition presets are supported with any combination of oxygen, nitrogen and helium. The Teric will NOT "lockout" after a missed stop or ascent rate violation. After the dive, the Teric communicates via Bluetooth to connect with the Shearwater Cloud dive log manager, which is compatible with MS Windows, OS X, iOS and Android devices, supporting wireless log downloads and firmware updates. The Teric supports hoseless gas pressure integration, sometimes called air integration (AI). The Teric is capable of wirelessly connecting to either one or two optional transmitters giving the diver ability to monitor up to two tank pressures. I love the ability to customize the diving home screen -- I have depth, NDL dive time, air pressure/remaining air, oxygen blend, max operating depth for blend, and dive time on the face. Even with that much information, the numbers are very legible. But, you can eliminate some info and get slightly bigger font if you need or want. On a gas blend page I store 5 or 6 common Nitrox blends (plus basic air) so that it is simple and quick to change the blend on the home face if and when I need to. You can also display the compass as a ring on the home screen if you want. I haven't been doing this at this point, but it is nice to know that the option is there when I start to work on my navigation skills. The air integration (AI) option is incredible and I highly recommend it. It tracked very closely with my analog gauge, but I really liked the convenience of having remaining air on the computer face. The analog is a nice back up. AI is a bit of a splurge, but if you decide you don't like it you'd get most of your money back if you sold the computer on the secondary market. Decompression stops are intuitive, clearly marked, and easy to understand. The amount of time remaining in a safety stop, for example, is clearly displayed and easily cleared from the screen once you've completed it. The computer automatically records most basic information you might want, including water temp, depth, start/end time, etc. It's very easy to edit dives and add notes in the app to about the specific dive site name, diving buddy, amount of weight used, and other things that you might want to note. It lacks a GPS function, which is something I'm told the Garmin has, but other than that, I can't think of much else it might be missing. Battery life seems reasonable. I was charging it on the included charger about every other day on a recent 9 day trip. Overall, this has been a fantastic add to my diving kit. It was very easy to use right out of the box. The AI transmitter was simple to pair and work flawlessly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It a great Dive Computer! *by D***L on 10 December 2019* Well here is what ill tell you about the Shearwater teric I haven’t been able to find any bad features on this dive computer. The only slight annoyance was that strap but i solved that quickly by buying any 22mm strap that i liked more than the silicon strap. Pretty much everything on this computer is customizable, even your deco and how much info you want to see during your dive. It is equipped with sapphire crystal glass and an extremely bright amoled display that will light up a dark room if you dont have is on dim. Your battery depends of you usage i am a dive instructor i can dive once or twice a day sometimes more but i get a week of diving before i have to charge, but i dont keep the display on all day, only when i want to see the time and back off, and without diving i about two weeks and haven’t charged yet. Only thing it cant do is play games on your safety stops.
