Very good quality at this price point!
I ordered this and its Kiritsuke counterpart as a bundle. Pleasantly surprised at what I received! I looked for flaws that had been mentioned in a few of the reviews, and found none! I love to cook, and these two knives should help make things go faster, and easier. I cannot comment on the edge durability as of yet, but will say they are both very sharp. I used the Kiritsuke to make short work of a large seedless watermelon the very next day. Quartered & sliced effortlessly. Used my filleting knife to lose the rinds for more compact packing, and easier eating. I own a set of Henkels, and find these comparable. I should get a good feel for the cleaver when I make my next batch of cat food. At this point, I would recommend buying them. There is a lot of marketing hype when it comes to knife brands, these are well priced, and the quality is there! I intend to buy a couple more. I will update if necessary. **UPDATE** I made 8 lbs of ground up chicken and Turkey cat food this morning. I put the frozen boneless thighs in a cooler yesterday for defrosting. Today they were about 40% defrosted. The cleaver cut through the somewhat frozen thighs and the defrosted meat like a razor. I cut it all into 1" pieces for the food processor. I was not chopping, but slicing thru everything. It was effortless!!!! Had it all cubed in 5 + minutes. I am getting to love these two knives! **Another Update** As a gift I ordered another of the heavier cleaver and the Kiritsuki for my brother and sister in law. They do a lot of entertaining, and food prep. My brother also makes his own jerky year round. They love these knives! A year later another gift of the boning and birds beak paring knives, also a big hit. I purchased my 1st ones over 2 years ago, and they get regular use. I insist on using sharp knives, as they are safer. I have sharpened mine maybe 3 times over the 2+ years. I also hand wash. All of them, including the gifted knives are holding up extremily well with minimal maintenence. I'm getting ready to order the steak knife set without hesitation.

Filet away
Knife is of good quality. Wish it had a sleeve to store in but I just keep in box to avoid any accidents. Works easily and skinning or cleaning meat. I got this thing at half off, but even at its full price is worth purchase. Grip is comfortable which makes handling nice as well as confident in use. Easy to recommend purchasing.

Great knife at a great value
I like this knife a lot. It’s sharp and well balanced. Obviously you get what you pay for. It’s not a high end knife but it cuts like one. And as far as people complaining about rust, all you need to do is dry your knife when you’re done washing it. My only complaint (like others) if that the handle doesn’t seem completely finished or not done well. You can feel the rivets and tang. I could fix this with some sanding but I really don’t care that much. If I were to go through the trouble I would probably replace the handle with some exotic wood. But other than that this knife is perfect.

Good everyday knife
I bought this nakiri knife +3yrs ago. Its not the highest, bestest knife out there but for the price, its served me well. I used it almost everyday and treated it roughly. I left it in the sink with other wet dishes overnight and it had no major issues. The wooden handle looks faded/old but that doesn’t bother me. However, I had to sharpen it a couple of times and it’s been harder to cut onions & tomatoes lately. I might upgrade to a nicer knife now that I know what works for me or not. I recommend this for beginners, casual cooks and for ladies with delicate hands/wrist.

Well made, nicely balanced and very sharp
Well balanced, solidly built and very sharp. Excellent value for great knives - I currently own 7 different styles and they’re all wonderful. Taking time to run them over a steel regularly and use on wooden cutting boards they virtually never need sharpening. Still getting used to the Nakiri but so far I’m impressed by how well it slices and dices vegetables.
