Pretty awesome tester. I use mine on my Off-Grid solar system. 6 volt AGM batteries and have 24 of them with 3 parallel of 8 in series. The tester gives good detailed data from CCA, internal resistance, voltage, state of health and state of charge. The internal printer is especially helpful considering how many batteries I test at once and not needing to write down each reading. Validated the results against my megger and results matched, I had one failed battery (cell) and 3 others nearing the end of life or "weak". I haven't used it to test an alternator since my needs are less for automotive but works great and appears to be accurate.

Like the unit, only issue is setting the date and time for the printouts. In the quick tour guide it says to hold the left, down and menu buttons simultaneously. This has no effect. Messaged Foxwell customer support 5 days ago, no word back as of yet.

The FOXWELL BT780 Car Battery Tester is so excellent for the price of $259.99. Full of the most frequently needed/desired features and it's way easy to use. Just hook its gator clips to the vehicle battery black to black, red to red and this unit gives you instructions on its screen step by step to do battery or full system tests. It's fast and it's very accurate! This unit performs like something costing $1000+ from other manufactures...and with its own 9-volt battery installed this unit a little more accurate and capable as its operation does not rely entirely on power from the car battery that it’s supposed to be testing.... The cable connector to the unit has a very tight space around it...it’s hard to fasten down the screw cap on the connector because it’s hard to get your fingertips onto it to tighten it in that small space. Also, the first time I printed the data slip it was not legible...I don't know why it did that but I did another print out days later and it came out just fine... If you need a GOOD vehicle battery/system tester this unit will do above and beyond for you, especially at this really nice price for all it does. Need one? BUY IT!!!
