The reason is that the pictures are very intricate so there are a lot of blocks with 1, 2 and 3 pixels. I rarely have to peek at the answers but with these I had to consult frequently to find out where I went wrong. I don't mean to dissuade anyone from buying this book (except beginners). If you like challenging puzzles, this is for you! Plus, all but a very few of the puzzles are hard. An added note. Paint-Doku is a deceiving description. They're sometimes call Nonograms. These are not meant to be a paint by numbers book. They're logic puzzles done in pencil. And personally, I care more about the process of solving than what the picture looks like when completed.
