Care should be taken to follow the instructions to the letter and not use old forum lore home remedies like vinegar.

No, as the coolant is already mixed at the proper ratio. Diluting with water would throw off the balanced chemistry of the fluid. While the included PrimoPrep needs to be diluted, the coolant itself is ready to go.
