The author does a very good job at describing the details of genetics, and trust me there is a LOT of details, while at the same time summarizing the key take away with figures, diagrams, and tables. The diagrams that supplement the text ensure the reader understands what they are reading with beautiful illustrations. The information is organized very well, and the material is presented in a very friendly manner to students. With that said, this is genetics we are talking about, which is no cake walk. This is a class that requires some background information in general biology and chemistry to fully appreciate and comprehend. But the author does a fantastic job at teaching you what you need to know. Definitely one of the best textbooks that I have read on such a complex topic.
