GWS8-45 4-1/2 In. Angle Grinder

I bought this grinder to use with poly abrasive stripping discs to remove paint on an older ranch house. I appreciate that the grinder is not heavy while still being beefy. The grip is small enough to run one handed, which I needed to do often while stretching arms length at the top of a ladder. The left-side push switch took some getting used to when using left handed. The constant on function works easily...push the switch forward and then press inward. I ran this grinder continuous for up to 15 minutes at a time, through a 5 pack of abrasive discs, over three days, grinding off old paint on wood siding. The grinder got warm, but never overheated. I was impressed. I like the safety guard. It fit the 4 1/2" x 7/8" poly discs perfectly with no contact. The guard requires an Allen key to loosen and reposition it. A clamping guard would be a plus. The auxilliary handle can be used on either left or right. One thing I. like is that the Allen key for the guard, and the wrench for the blade nut are all in one piece, an interesting tool, a little different from the standard wrench. The holes in the blade nut are standard width. It took me about one minute to assemble the tool out of the box. The single speed is rated 11,000 rpms, and I note it runs constant, and has not bogged down in my use. The wheel-lock on the back is red, and is easy to use while changing a blade. Glad I bought it. This is an excellent quality tool for professionals that definitely goes to the job site.

I needed an angle grinder to use with my new lawn mower blade sharpener. Can't say this is any better than other name brands but the price was attractive and it seems like a quality tool. Been working well for me so far.

this item was shipped on time and works great. great tool for the money. would have given this 5 stars but its obvious this was a returned product as there was a part missing and the package was obiously retaped. missing an allen wrench holder for the power cord- no big deal but not what i excpected. I kept the tool and love it.

Was the best choice for me out of the dozens of models for sale. Good ergonomics and powerful. I have had good luck with Bosch power tools.

I mean really! I was so confused when I read some of these reviews about how the manual states you can't use this grinder for cutting! TLDR: YOU MOST CERTAINLY CAN USE THIS GRINDER FOR CUTTING. Long story is this is considered Bosh's budget friendly model so it comes without a case or the fancy vibration reducing handle, and it also comes with there most basic guard FOR the included wheel. They thoughtfully included a Type 27 grinding disk to get you started. Bosh used to make a proper sized cutting guard for this grinder but for whatever reason no longer do, so instead of offering you the parts that were intended for the device they just rewrite the user manual to coverup there shortcomings. But as you can see from the pictures I've included it's really easy to use your newly purchased grinder to make the necessary modifications. I personally like to use a Type 41 cutting wheel with the offset hub but I find it difficult to find the good diamond wheels like that. Usually they are a Type 1 flat disk which puts it much closer to the guard. I tried to allow enough guard to be left to still allow me to use it for a Type 27 grinding wheel so I don't need to have multiple guards for multiple wheels. I do occasionally use wire cones but use them without a guard and if and when I get a flat wire wheel I will cross that bridge when I come to it but don't expect too much if an issue. I personally like to use my tools with the guards but I like the guards to stay out of my way as well. I find this is an easy fix to the problem and a fun first project as well. Instructions!? Lol PS I did all the work you see with the Denali grinder in the background as like I said I like to work WITH guards. 😉 I would recommend both grinders for the price to anyone who is looking.

I have several hundred hours of work done with one of these on a huge project, so I bought another one just in case. I highly recommend this Bosch. It may not be the most fancy looking one on the market but it is a workhorse. The construction is durable and i was able to buy some accessories for it, like a vacuum collection cover that just made it all that much nicer to use. It's not any louder than the DeWalt angle grinder, but the side switch on this one is a little bit harder to activate. Overall pretty happy with it given the price and the durability.

Exelente producto!, como siempre Bosch no decepciona. Trae un disco de desbaste para que consideren las compras que realicen. La relacion calidad-precio es muy buena, tenia mis dudas sobre la amoladora pero entrega buenos resultados. Ya ranure en la pared, corte tubo de acero y realice trabajos de lijado con disco de grano 36, todo sin ningun problema!!!!
