As to your second question, it's clearly a semi gloss finish, I do believe DOW makes a matte finish. The gloss isn't obnoxiously shiny, as that would be annoying as the majority of my window sashes and frames are matte black and high gloss would be unsightly. I've also used the DOW 995 white, which is slightly less glossy. **Q: can this dow 995 be used in place of glazing for setting glass in black window panes?** A: Yes.
