It's the perfect waffle maker!
I haven't received it yet, but my sister has one. It's fantastic!! Easy to clean, and the waffles come out perfect. You just need to use the measuring cup. Since it's vertical, it's easier to control that the mixture doesn't overflow. That's why I decided to buy it.

Evenly cooked waffle
This is a wonderful waffle iron. I have had mine for about 4 years. It makes a great evenly cooked waffle. There is no sticking when getting the waffle out, It is easy to clean up. I use it regularly and it looks as good as the day I purchased it. You just have to clean it up after each use. Don't leave crumbs in the iron area. One suggestion is that if you want a blueberry waffle, or something chunky, you need to puree them before you add them to the batter. The design will not let whole berries get past the funnel or waffle designed metal form. I use 3/3 of a cup of batter per waffle, and set the thermostat to just under 3.5 to get a waffle firm , but not crusty.

Good concept for waffle making
The concept is good, but the clean-up is more than a regular waffle maker and you have to adjust the amount of batter to make a perfect waffle.

Junk
The device wears down quickly. When making waffles the latch will no longer hold the waffle iron shut.

NOT AS CONVENIENT AS THE STANDARD KIND
I received this Cuisinart Vertical Waffler Maker about five years ago as a gift, not purchased on Amazon. Cuisine Art has always been one of my favorite brands. So I was somewhat disappointed in its performance. From day one (5 or more years ago) to today, it never heated hot enough. Always kept on the highest temperature setting, when the buzzer goes off signaling the waffle is done, I have learned to just let it keep baking for 5 or more minutes to get a medium gold tan waffle. Crispness depends on type of batter used and often has to bake even longer than the extra 5 minutes. I found the top pouring spout inconvenient. A plastic pouring cup came with the unit and it measured just the right amount of batter to pour in. I have AMD and my eyesight too often missed the mark with that cup, so I began using my Pyrex measuring cup to pour a bit less than half cup of batter in, if too much over, the batter bubbles up the spout. Now that my eyesight got worse, can't see the top spout well enough to pour in batter without making a mess. Not so hard to clean once batter is baked, but I will give it away and am shopping on Amazon for a standard, basic waffle maker that will be more convenient for me. But I don’t think any waffle makers today work as efficiently as my mother’s waffle “iron” with no Teflon or ceramic coating, which I had used for many years after she passed away. Young folks don't know what real quality is.

Worst waffle maker out there
Cookies waffles unevenly, leaves a fat uncooked handle of raw dough that you have to cut off- wasting a ton of material. Worst of all, it's a giant mess- you cannot cook a waffle in this thing without it spilling on the front or back. Also, as mentioned, the latch wears out and no longer holds the two halves of the waffle maker together, and the whole thing is then useless.

So easy!
Makes waffles so easy!! Simply use measured cup, fill on top, and wait till light comes on. Great product!

Works like a boss!
Great device/kitchen gadget! Easy to use, fairly easy to clean (but let's face it, waffle making can be messy) the upright design limits counter top clutter and takes it minimal real estate on your counter. Did I mention, solid build. Only caveat might be the power cord, it's a little flimsy, but so far, so good.

Amazing quality and easy
My first waffle was kind of perfect. I used setting number 3 out of 5 but should have used 4 or even 5 for my liking but excellent result. I’m happy.

Worth the money easy to use, clean and perfect waffle
First I would like to say that anyone who gives this machine less than 5 stars you clearly don’t know how to use it. I’ve been making waffles since I bought this and it’s been amazing. Every waffle comes out perfect every time, it DOES NOT overflow or come out the sides, that’s the whole point of it being upright. I personally like my setting at 2, it’s not too crispy and not too light. I made for my whole family 15 of us for our desert after our family dinner everyone wanted it at number 1 which is golden colour and some asked for seconds. Everyone came out perfect. They said we should do it for every family get together. I can touch the machine it’s not hot to burn your hand, the waffles come right off no sticking at all and easy to clean just wipe with a wet cloth. Highly recommend this machine we will be using it for our waffle business I am now starting.

VERY consistent waffle-making and easy to clean, nonstick surface is excellent
Cuisinart Vertical Waffle Maker See my video review first. This is not my first waffle maker use -- have used plenty of other brands before this -- including the commercial brands that have a 180 degree flip over. What do i like about this model? 1. EASY to use. So long as you work slow, its dead simple my 9 year old can run this machine and make pretty good looking waffles 2. nonstick is actually nonstick. surface MUST warm up to temp before using, and then you should experience nonstick waffles falling out of the plates -- very minimal cleaning! No greasing of plates required. 3. VERTICAL upright position makes it really easy to store in my pantry without taking up too much space 4. Default setting 3 is perfect approx 3minutes. What i dislike? 1. not detachable plates so a bit harder to do a proper clean -- though it does truly work as non-stick surface -- sometimes if you have clumsy people running the wafflemaker it calls for better cleaning options.. 2. i wish there were an explicit timer display or some kind of "restart" button so you know its getting the full time. the led would turn green and red and green and red in cycles so you dont really know if you got your full 3 minutes. 3. There are mentions in other reviews that in 6 months this thing leaks -- i'm worried about that. I think this COULD happen if t he plates WARP over time and doesnt have a good enough seal. I really hope this doesnt happen but if it does? be sure to report that later. My initial , first hand impressions were great. No mess (so long as your slow) and makes CONSISTENT waffles. I've used other machines which were messy to use, and/or "nonstick" was not true, and/or hard to clean, and/or inconsistent heat which leaves inconsistent timing. .. . . My very first 10 waffles were absolutely consistent and perfect. I will be cautious though to say this is just the beginning. I may continue to report over time if this has any negative problems. I make waffles once a week to feed a family of 6, so that is a decent amount of waffles and it will give me a good idea after some good cycles. Hope this helps!!
