Review: I tried a lot of vests - There are a lot of cooling vests on desertcart. This one is what I would call "extreme cooling" because it is literally ice against you - 32 degrees. There are others that I have tried that last longer than this because they are not ice, they are a fancy compound that runs at around 60 degrees. Here is how to decide the right one for you: If you need intense cooling that doesn't last as long - go with this one. The quality is awesome I do tons of physical work wearing it and it rocks. The replacement packs are very cheap and you can have a bunch to switch out if you need longer cooling. This vest also has a sweet velco system so it is easy to swap. If you need less intense cooling, go with the fancy 60 degree cooling vests. If you are doing physical work outside in hot sun you will overpower these vests though. They are more useful for less intense, longer term cooling needs. Maybe fishing? I still feel like it wouldn't be enough for me. Also note the replacement packs are extremely expensive.

**Q: How long does it last?**
A: Cooling times depend on factors such as ambient temperatures, humidity level, physical exertion, and body mass. As a general guideline, the each frozen panel set will provide cooling for about 1.5 hrs. Additional panel sets can extend time duration.

**Q: Why Ice? Isn't there a more advanced chemical?**
A: Water, when changing phase from a solid (ice) to a liquid, is the most efficient material in absorbing heat.

**Q: My Ice Vest is melting already. Is it working correctly?**
A: Yes, it is working perfectly. Heat is removed from the body when the ice vest is melting, or changing phase from a solid to a liquid. As long as there is the tiniest sliver of ice in the cubes, it is removing heat from the body.

**Q: How do I wash my Ice Vest?**
A: The Ice Vest is machine washable after the ice sheets are removed. To remove the ice sheets from the panels, unzip the panels and pull out the ice. The Ice sheets can be hand washed as needed. Put the ice sheets back in the panels after washing.

**Q: Not all of the cubes are frozen when I take them out of the freezer, what can I do?**
A: If you have a cube that isn’t frozen after 12 hours in a deep freeze, give it a sharp flick with your finger. If it doesn’t crystalize on contact, place it back in the freezer and it will be frozen shortly. This is due to our use of pure water.

I bought this vest to keep cool while working with my bee hives wearing bee suits that tend to be very hot, and it works great. I have only used it once so far but i worked my bees for about an hour and stayed very cool the entire time. When i took my vest off the ice was still froze. I love this ice vest. I enjoy so many outdoor activities, but during AZ summers the heat causes migraines. This ice vest has helped to keep my body cool during early pickleball games when the temps are still around the low 90's. It takes 12 hours for the ice packs to fully freeze and last about 1.5 hours in AZ. I purchased another set of ice packs that I keep in a cooler and rotate them out. So, far it's been a good investment and helps regulate body temperature allowing me to enjoy outdoor activities. It's lightweight, non-restrictive. It is easily adjustable for small to larger body types. There are two front pockets to store small items.
