This is a great mandolin! You can slice from paper thin to 9mm very easily and quickly. I tried making matchstick carrots, but that didn't turn out well and it made a mess. This is excellent for making eggplant rollatini, zucchini rollatini, sliced carrots, etc. I like that you don't need to store various blades. The blades are self-contained and you dial in the one you need. Gloves are a nice addition and an additional layer of safety.

As others have mentioned, very sharp! Be sure to use the gloves included. Perfect size for resting over a standard cutting board. Well built for the price. I've only needed to rinse and (carefully) wipe off, but that seems to be good enough for cleaning. Very easy to use, but again, careful around the blade.

Very nice tool. Easy to clean. The gloves are way too small for a man's hand. And the Handgard is too wide. It rides on the side rails, so you can't get the last few thin slices out of the food.

This is the second mandoline I have had. My first one had a blade that went straight across, not at an angle and the blade didn't seem very sharp. This one is so much nicer, vegetable cut with ease. It is sturdy and doesn't slide when I use it. It was easy to clean by hand, but now I put it in the dishwasher instead. When I washed it by hand, I used a dish towel to dry if off. Warning: a dish towel does not prevent the blade from slicing you finger. I got a deep gash that took a few weeks to fully heal. Pros: The blade is very sharp, it cuts through vegetables with ease Cons: The blade is very sharp, it cuts through fingers with ease :) - be careful, not just when slicing, but also when handling it afterwards. I learned the hard way.

The blade is very sharp and works well. The product includes a glove for safety, and I strongly recommend using it at all times. However, I had a problem with the black plastic guard. When slicing a lemon, it only held the lemon for one or two slices. After that, the lemon slipped inside the guard, so the blade could no longer reach it. When I tried to adjust it to continue slicing, the blade started cutting the plastic guard instead of the lemon. This made it ineffective for lemons and unsafe. This may work better for other foods like cucumber, but for lemons, the black guard did not work for me. Please be very careful and always wear the glove.

LOVE my new mandoline food slicer. Great product, well packaged with easy instructions. Sharp blades so becareful!
