I am sure just a dab of glue on the parts before screwing together would cure this. Wish it were white as then it would blend better into the window frame when I hang it on the rod in the middle - but this is in a home office and the black is not a big deal there. If it were I could hang it behind the curtain on the inside of the rod. Could I spray paint it a color to match my drapes/linings?** A: It is made of metal & could be painted with the right paint. Note: the tip on the hook portion & on the bottom of the rod are a plastic material & may not hold the paint. Love this rod, very sturdy, I did glue the two pieces together. I hang mine on the end over the bracket that hold the curtain rod, hardly notice it's there, my drapes are a brownish/taupe color. **Q: Will one rod work for a pair of curtains or do you need one per panel?** A: No need for one per panel UNLESS each panel is in a seperate room AND you don't want to walk the Drapery Pull (a.k.a. stick or rod) to and from each room every time you need it. Drapery Pull is NOT attached to the curtain, it can be hung from the curtain rod and removed (similiar to a regular clothes hanger) when you need to use it. **Q: I have lined drapes, rather heavy. ill this pull rod work for it?** A: Yes, I think it will. My drapes are not lined but they are rather sturdy mircofiber. My drapes have grommets, and this pull works equally as well, whether I push/pull with the rod or hook it into a grommet. **Q: I have a rod that it is 1 and 1/8 " in diameter. Will this fit over the rod to push the curtains?** A: I do not it believe it fits over my 1" rod but I can't check now because that's at a vacation house. However, it doesn't have to. I use it to push the leading drapery ring to the left or to the right to close or open the drape. The rest of the drapes follow the leading edge. I can also more carefully arrange the drape with it, more evenly distribute fullness if needed. When not in use, I hang the pull rod at the end of the drapery rod where a finial attaches and there is a smaller part for it to hook over.
