Cloth, microfiber cloth, hand??** A: I would start with the 100000 grit which is the less aggressive compound of the 3 and I would hand polish it with a microfiber cloth. If your results aren't quit what you expected then go to the next grid which is 50000 and if that works then finish it off again with the 100000 to get a smooth blemish free surface. Side note, if your nail gets into the scratch, forget it and call it a day since nothing will fix that severe of damage. **Q: For camera lens with deep scratches, would you recommend 4000, 8000 & 50000? Hand polish it or use dremel? Thanks** A: Don't use a dremel! I used a dremel to polish a knife blade and spent 4 days trying to fix the damage. **Q: What would you recommend to polish hard plastic to a glass like finish?** A: They make a special polish for this. We used it to clean plexiglass in TN the AF. **Q: Will the 4000 grit polishing compound give a finish comparable to a 4000 grit sandpaper? If not, what difference would I see with the compound?** A: Diamond compound generally gives much better result than sandpaper, mainly because diamond is the hardest abrasive ever (which generally is not used in sandpaper).
