How long until fully heated?** A: In the winter my house is cold, I keep my heating pad on the medium setting and my heat strip on the kombucha jar says 78 degrees. You can't go by how hot the pad feels, your jar will feel warm if the pad is working . **Q: can this be used with a 2.5 gallon jar for continuous brew?** A: It won't work as well with 2.5 gallons. It's designed to be used on a 1-gallon jar. That being said, you will be able to raise the temperature with the wrap on high - it just depends on what temperature you are going for and how cold you keep your house. Also, keep in mind you will have to find a way to secure it as the strap is designed to fit around a 1-gallon vessel.
