This is called the “Stingray Classic” and is made for motors 40 HP and above. It bolts on with four stainless steel bolts which are included. You will have to drill four holes in your outboard or stern drive. I’ve included a photo of my stern drive with the four holes drilled. The color of this looks almost black, especially when in the package. After taking it out, the color is really a very dark grey. It works really well and makes a big difference in how the boat performs. Review: Does what it says it will do - This for sure helped get our 22' cabin cruiser on plane a lot faster and eliminated prop blow out when trimming up. Did not notice any loss in top speed. The instructions say to place the Stingray on the cavitation plate as far forward as it will go and and use the Stingray holes to mark where you will drill mounting holes in the cavitation plate. This plate is usually made of aluminum or hard plastic and won’t be very difficult to drill through. You will need a 1/4 inch drill bit for the holes. **Q: Will this one fit a 70hp Yamaha outboard?** A: Yes **Q: what is the distance between the pre drilled holes?** A: The distance between the front set of holes and the rear set of holes is 4.0” The distance between the left front hole and right front hole is 4.0” The distance between the left rear hole and right rear hole is 3.875” **Q: Will it fit on a 3.3 merc cruiser 4 cylinder ?** A: Yes it should.
