Perfect for fans of Fletcher and the Falling Leaves, The Leaf Thief is a funny picture book that teaches kids about autumn, adapting to change, and the seasons. Squirrel loves counting the leaves on his tree―red leaves, gold leaves, orange, and more. But hold on! One of his leaves is missing! On a quest to find the missing leaf, Squirrel teams up with his good friend Bird to discover who the leaf thief could be among their forest friends. With vibrant art and captivating characters, the magic of autumn is captured beautifully on each page as readers tag along Squirrel's forest adventure. Is there truly a leaf thief afoot, or is something else going on in Squirrel's forest? A perfect exploration of change―both seasonal, and the anxiety that change sometimes causes. Bonus material explaining about the changing of the seasons. Review: Engaging fall picture book - I ordered this book as a read-aloud for elementary level functional skills classrooms. It did not disappoint! - Illustrations are colorful - story is fun and engaging and is easily read aloud with expression - story lends itself well to the addition of manipulatives for student engagement (we waved leaves, held them up high, let them fall, blew the leaves like wind) - the length of the story is just right for preschool through early elementary I would recommend this book to parents and teachers, and I plan to read it year after year. Review: Great children's book - This is a great book for children who love adventures and enjoy reading books out loud to their parents, guardians, or babysitter. The quality of this book is great, the story is easy to follow, and the price was great. This book was purchased as a gift, and the child loved it.

Favorite book that endures beginning at 15 months
My 15 month old grandson immediately loved this book when he received it and 5 months later is still a favorite- Though most of his books at the time were board books, he always eagerly pulled this off the shelf and sat through the whole book. The pages have quite a bit of dialogue so it can be reduced as needed for attention spans building up to reading the whole page. My grandson knew "Bird!" was coming after one read and laughs. He is now 20 months and still he picks it most nights as part of bedtime stories. The pictures are fun and it is a cute story. As a speech path- I love how engaging the book is for little ones and I am sure my grandson will continue to enjoy the book through his preschool years. The end of the book has interesting science facts as well (the book can "grow" with him). I highly recommend it!

Fun Little Book, Great for My Own Leaf Thief
This is a delightful book that's perfect for my little leaf enthusiast. My toddler, who loves picking up leaves and bringing them home (which is why I absolutely had to grab this, haha), finds this story enjoyable and humorous, as do we! It's a fun read with engaging illustrations, and its just long enough to make it feel like a great value. The book has quickly become a favorite in our household, and an excellent addition to our reading collection. Would recommend!
