Works great on thistles *by H***7 on July 10, 2023* We purchased an acreage back in 2020 and the previous owners had roughly 3 acres with fencing on top of fencing. They had goats and had them all organized all the way up to show goats. Apparently the goats were eating the thistles because they weren't obvious when we first moved in. We took down all the fencing and just did one large fence. That summer the thistles started showing just how bad they were. At one point I went out with the skid loader and knocked them all down so they wouldn't flower. Two weeks later they were standing back up roughly 6 feet tall. If anybody has battled thistles before while attempting to save the grass you know how hard it is. I first tried several applications of 24-D. This would knock the tops over for about 2 weeks and then they would pop back up.Somebody told me about this chemical because we have ducks, chickens, dogs, and several cats running around. Last summer we sprayed the area once. Hit the thistles a littler harder than the rest of the grass. Within 3 days they were laying down. We hit it randomly two more times just because areas were missed. Within a month all the weeds and thistles were gone. It's been over a year now and no thistles have popped back up.Update - still no thistles even after another year of spraying. We put our 25 gallon spray rig down stairs during the winter so nothing freezes. This summer I brought it up because we have some odd weeds towering in the grove. The tank had maybe a cup or two of already mixed up solution at 1oz per gallon left it in from 2023. I installed the tank on the side by side and dumped in 15 gallons of new water on top of it just to test the system. I was showing my kid the system and we drove along the edge of the grove and I was letting him shoot the water across all the weeds we were going to hit. We emptied the entire 15 gallons of basically water out and called it a day. The next morning we came out to find everything we hit was dying.That 'solution' ratio is unbelievable. 1 oz per gallon. The stuff in the tank was left over already mixed from last year. Then dumping 15 gallons of all water on top of that was enough to still do its job.What ratio is that?? .1oz to gallon or less?? We are going to now back off that 1oz per gallon and test with maybe 1/4oz per gallon. A week later all those 5 foot tall weeds are still dying. 1oz per gallon at this point is overkill and a waste of product. I'm extremely excited to spray and try the lower doze. The only problem now is I have nothing left the spray. Everything is dying off from the 'water test spray'. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is how we keep the pastures up *by A***R on March 18, 2025* This is what we use on the pastures. It helps with the growth and weeds. Spray is great and dries in a day or two ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kills Chamberbitter aka Mimosa weed!!! *by P***S on September 1, 2022* I bought this not knowing if it would kill the chamberbitter weeds in my horse pasture. I had already tried several other products with no success, so I was definitely not disappointed with the Grazon, and so happy that I decided to try it! I recommend doing pre-emergence spraying in the spring, when the ground temperature has been in the 70's for a week. Then over the summer, when I noticed some of the weeds sprouting up, (probably because I had missed them with the spring spraying), I sprayed them when they were tender and young, and they were wiped out. We had a very dry summer, so when it did rain in August, more of the weeds started sprouting up, and grew quite fast, but I sprayed them anyway, and after a few days, the older weeds started wilting and dying. I'm still going to do another spring spraying next year, in case there are still some seeds that I missed. The spray hasn't bothered my horses, but I do spray in the mornings, and they are turned out later in the day. It's on the jug as there are no foraging restrictions. Do be careful as to not to spray grass twice in one day, because it will turn brown, but will come back with rain. And be careful not to get too close to small bushes and flowers and such. They might also get wiped out, if they are real sensitive. The Grazon has also worked really well in killing dandelions, thistles, poison ivy, cockle burr, and many other weeds that I don't know the names of.
