This is only my 5th or 6th multitool I’ve owned but the others just sat in my toolbox or in my tool bag in my car or truck, collecting dust. I’m not the type to carry a multitool on my belt when wearing my non-work clothes. This squirt is the perfect size to fit in my pocket wherever I’m going. Everything works well in it too! The pliers are so fine tipped that I have used them to pluck hairs and remove splinters. Scissors can cut even thick zip ties! The knife, although small, is super sharp. I used it to cut piles of vegetation off my trucks driveshaft after getting stuck in a ditch. We had to rock the truck to get free from the ditch but we the weeds got caught on the shaft. With the tight tension on the weeds, we went right down the shaft cutting all the weeds away and making quick work of it. Enough weeds to make 2 adult sized piles! Bottom line is the best multitool is the one you can carry with you the most and USE the most. If it’s in my toolbox and I need a flathead, I’m gonna grab my craftsman proper flathead not from a multitool. I've had 3 gerbers including the dime. Gerber quality is poor. They break pretty easy. I broke all 3. I've never broke or bent a leatherman, EVER! I had another keychain gerber tool and broke the jaws of the pliers in the first day just by cutting a wire tie. The dime is better but it's plastic cutting tool already bent and broke after a couple of months. Gerber is owned by a foreign made scissor company and most of the knifes are made in China as is the dime. The main reason they break so easy and are so much cheaper than leatherman. I just bought a Squirt PS4 because I wanted the scissors when I don't have my fullsize leatherman on my waste belt. My P4 has nothing wrong with it except the paint scratched off in my pocket. My Micra is great but I need pliers. My work gave me the micra which sits mainly on my dresser but it's very tuff and reliable. I've used it at work and it has never disappointed. There's a reason why leatherman costs 2x what a gerber does and why other's tools are so inexpensive. **Q: Which is the better tool, this Squirt or the 831488 Style PS?** A: I own both. Get the style which is tsa legal and carry a full sized knife. The squirt is riveted and cannot be disassembled. Once you get some lint in it it’s done **Q: does this tool have the torx screws as the screws that hold it together?** A: Mine comes with flat pins. Not sure if they come out or not. But I've heard some models come with Philips screws **Q: the description above lists an awl and a can opener. picture does not show it. on other websites description does not list these items. ??** A: The picture is accurate. There are the main pliers, scissors (decent ones for once), & 2 screwdriver on one side of the handle, & a knife blade and a file blade on the othe side. It does have the standard "lanyard" ring, but I think we all know that's not a tool or a selling point. I don't like having a lot of keys and other stuff hanging from my keychain, so I replaced my bottle opener with the Squirt PS4 (it has a bottle opener on it). It is a little heavier than the bottle opener that it replaced, but way more useful and actually more compact in size. I'm usually carrying with my some kind of knife (Spyderco Delica 4, Cold Steel Recon 1, Kershaw Skyline, Spyderco Endura 4, etc) with me so the blade on this PS4 doesn't see much use. But all of the other tools seem to work very effectively. The scissors are smaller than the scissors on the older Squirt S4, but I find them still up to the job from cutting thread to cardboard and thin plastic containers. I was able to utilize the screwdrivers the other day to open up a server at work when I had forgotten to bring my screwdriver set with me (saved me 10 minutes of having to look for the set). I used to carry the Juice S2 with me, but with the Squirt PS4 and an additional knife I find myself very well equipped. So I moved the Juice to my EDC bag and have it available if there are bigger tasks required. The anodized handles are very nice too, I love the blue color and after a few weeks of rubbing around in my pockets with the keys and other loose items it shows absolutely no signs of wear. I figured by now it would have some kind of scratches, but it still looks brand new (that may change though who knows). The only con in this review is that I don't really like the blade on the knife. I mean it works alright, and I don't expect a lot out of such a small blade, but they only grinded one side. Not a big deal it still cuts things, I'm just not really a fan, which is why I carry another knife.
