I absolutely love my Portmerion hors d’oeuvre plates. They happen to match my every day dishes, so it was a no-brainer when I saw them. They are in style no matter what the season. I’m always proud to pull them out to serve guests and friends.

This is another beautiful set of plates from Portmeirion! I love all the Portmeirion Botanic Garden pieces and this set of 7” square plates are no different! The beauty and quality is superb, the glaze shiny and smooth and the floral motifs are so pretty and even whimsical with the butterflies hovering on each. The plates are a good size, perfect for lunch plates, side plates or a dessert plates. They will be used daily in my house because sometimes we just have small plate meals or a sandwich with soup. These plates are porcelain like most of their pieces so they are very durable and not easy to chip. They have a good weight and a certain thickness that alludes to quality and stands the test of time. They are freezer safe, microwave safe, dishwasher safe and can be put in the oven although there is a temp guideline. The pretty colorful floral motif on each dish is different and includes different styles and types of flowers in colors of yellow, pink, blues, purples and green. The butterflies added to each motif give it that Portmeirion touch that I love. If pretty dish-ware is your thing then these are definitely one you will love. I know I can’t pass up adding to my Portmeirion collection and if you love it too and don’t have these pretty plates I think you need them! You can’t go wrong with Portmeirion. Every piece they make of any type is generally high quality and speaks of durability and beauty. They have been around for many years and originated in England where they design and make most of their pieces. However, these days, some of it is made in China as are these plates. If that bothers you then this may not be one you want to collect. But since most things are made in China these days I don’t have a big problem with it as long as the items are still high quality and designed by the originator in the country or origin. If you are eyeing up this set of square plates, I say go for it! They are as lovely as the other Portmeirion Botanic Garden pieces! ___________________________
