It all depends on how high your portable goal is or net. The Mega Net is 12 Ft from the ground so if your basketball net is 12 ft also, when shooting balls may just go over it if missed. If you were going to use it this way the Mega Net would need to be raised, so not that practical. Its mainly used for shots at speed to cushion the blow e.g Football and Golf.
