Now granted, I'm coming from a many year's old bread knife from an inexpensive J.A. Henckels set that has never been great, but I still think this knife is outstanding. The weight and balance feel great and it's easy to hold. It feels well-made and I was super excited to see how well it cut the first loaf of crusty bread -- the slices retained the shape and the knife cut through them like butter. It has cleaned up well and beautifully cut many types of bread.
