I rate Monsoon as one of my favourite Di Morrissey books she is a born story teller and her discription of the places is spot on. It made me wanting to go to visit the area. The story was very enjoyable and very hard to put down.

I so enjoy Di Morrissey. I read this book years ago, & so wanted to visit Vietnam. Recently returned from a wonderful holiday there, & had to reread it. Her description of the areas were so real, great story. I really would like a fool up book.

    Perhaps her best?

I have been reading Di's books for decades, eagerly waiting for the new one each year, then reading it on the flight home from Australia. As always, she evokes the places wonderfully. Quite frankly, I was surprised that she could do that for Vietnam. Characters are some of her most compelling. The history of the treatment of returning vets is spot on. While I do love the Broome trilogy, this is now my favorite. For some reason it means more to me now than when I first read it when I was younger. That's probably because I am retired now and have more time to appreciate it. A bit irritating as it begins, because it needs better chapter/section headings as the time switches back and forth. But you soon get in the swing of it. No time for a longer review. Going to pull out the one on Malaysia and all the old ones I have not read in years!
