Review: Superb, stable, easy-to-assemble. See usage tips - This is a really well-made and sturdy shower chair. It assembles easily with no tools. I did it while sitting in a chair and did not have to get up. A clear instruction sheet is included. The legs screw into the seat. It does take a bit of strength to ensure they are fully tightened in place. Similarly the back and arms press into place. The back and arms slide in easily although they need a good solid push to go the final distance and lock in place. Once assembled, the lower part of each leg twists out in the opposite direction to adjust the height of the seat. A window with a numeric legend makes it easy to adjust all four legs to the same height. The chair fits easily in a standard American Standard bathtub. It can be positioned most of the way back in the tub before the tub gets too narrow for the legs. Placed in this way there is plenty of room in the tub to stand under the water in front of the chair (e.g. if you want to stand while cleaning your torso and sit while cleaning your legs.) Alternatively, it can also be placed up close to the shower head. It also is handy to sit while shampooing your hair since if you value stability. The chair is comfortable to sit in and seems very stable. The back and arms provide added support which is great. If your shower head is fixed in place on the wall it can be helpful to use the chair with an adjustable shower valve such as 100% Shower Head Shut Off Valve - Solid Brass - Chrome Finish . This may be used to adjust the shower flow so the water falls where you wish - in front of you, on you, etc. while seated. Highly recommended! **Q: I can't tell if the back is curved or flat across?**
A: Both the back rest and the handles (mini arm wrests) have slight arc to them.  All the edges are smoothed and rounded, too.  The seating area is flat, however.

**Q: Is the chair rust resistant?**
A: All parts are plastic.  I just checked mine and I do not see any metal parts, even the feet are plastic.  Good thing. No metal parts=no rusting!

**Q: Does this have suction cup feet? We need to be able to move it in and out of the tub and can't lean over to detach the suction kind.**
A: Does it or doesn't it have suction cup feet?  Officially - NO. Both answers jumping around in here!  The feet are made of a rubbery type material.  The bottom outer edge is flat, however, there is a small cavity formed into the bottom center of the rubber foot.  It's a small inset cavity.   If you mate this just right to a FLAT, smooth, damp surface in your tub or shower, and apply enough downward force (weight by sitting on the chair) a small suction does form.  The feet are not true suction cup feet, but this feature does hold the chair in place when someone is seated on it.  I hope this clarifies the confusion by these other conflicting answers.

This shower bench is exactly what I needed to bathe my adult daughter with special needs. Purchased 3 years ago and am still using it today. Very well made and easy to assemble and adjust. I use it without the arm handles. It's very stable, easy to move and fits well in my walk-in shower. It has saved my back. Purchased a second one for my Mother In Law as well. Highly recommend.
