Excellent accuracy, ease of use, great price for the quality and features
So far (after about 3 weeks), I am extremely pleased with the 300 Pro. Works very well for me and is a good price compared to others offering the same number of features. I looked at the Bushnell Hybrid Rangefinder before buying the Callaway. Although it has some features that might be kind of cool, at $400 you would think it could give you slope (I suppose irrelevant it you only play on a very flat course), and you would think it would have a magnet (or other cart attachment device) at this price (they do offer an accessory for cart attachment for additional money). I'm not slamming Bushnell as they make very good products, and I am guessing the Hybrid is very good, but at more than twice the price and without offering what I consider to be a couple of key features, for me the decision is a no-brainer. As to a couple of reviews I saw making complaints about the 300 Pro: (1) Small size: Some reviews complain that it is too small. I like it (although it has a magnet to attach to golf cart, it also fits nicely in the golf cart cup holder). My golfing buddy has a much larger rangefinder (I do not know the brand) which is no easier to aim than mine. He is very impressed with the smaller size and how quickly it gives a readout compared to his rangefinder. (2) Battery life: one review says the battery drains too quickly. At least from my experience, after 8 rounds over three weeks, I am still using the same battery without any issue. As I always do for battery powered products, I bought additional batteries at the same time on Amazon: "EBL CR2 Lithium Battery, 3 Volt 800mAh Photo Battery for Mini 25, Mini 50, Golf Rangefinder, Flashlight, Electronic Toys, Alarm Systems (CR2-8 Count)," about $12 for 8 of them. Even if I had to use a new battery every round, when paying $50-$100 per round I would not mind paying $1.50 to get accurate yardages for the round! (After 8 rounds I am only paying about $0.25 per round, assuming mine dies before round 9!) Sept 6, 2021: Update re battery. Four additional weeks and 6 additional rounds. Still on first battery. November 1, 2022: My last update for this product. Today my first battery finally ran out on the first hole. AFTER 101 ROUNDS SINCE 9/6/21!!! Obviously I did not need to buy all the extra batteries.

The CG 300 is a Great Product!
I have been very satisfied with my Callaway Golf 300 Pro Rangefinder. The accuracy is excellent, and I particularly like the magnet function that holds the device securely on my golf cart. The unit comes with a heavy-duty case that I often use when transporting the rangefinder in my golf bags. I know there are a lot of good rangefinders on the market, and I haven't tried most of them, but I can say that this Callaway unit has worked perfectly for my golfing needs.

Get's the job done
OK, so, I read a bunch of reviews before my purchase and decided to give this rangefinder a try. I had a Bushnell that bounced off the cart (I wasn't driving) and into a creek at the end of last golf season. I had planned to just bite the bullet and buy another $400 Bushnell. But, saw this for less than half the price and with 4.7 stars and over 11K reviews, how bad could it be? It arrived today and works as advertised. Quick acquisition and seemingly accurate distance based on common sense and golfing for over 40 yrs. It's Jan in Michigan so, just shot some signs, light posts, etc., outside my office. I like that the vibration occurs even on objects like a car or, whatever. It doesn't require a pin to get confirmation feedback. So, the main reason for the high review before ever taking it out on a golf course is simple operation, quick acquisition, and very strong magnet relative to size and weight. I don't think this one is coming off a cart. If so, I'm probably off the cart as well. If your looking for a rangefinder that has clear optics and quite frankly just measures the distance to things easily and accurately, then this appears to be a good choice. I can't speak to durability given it just arrived but, I'm impressed with this little fella so far. If there any negatives or, at least insights I can offer, it is quite small. I have probably average size hands and this thing is small. Not so small that it's weird but, definitely an adjustment from the Bushnell. Also, the Amazon page claims it doesn't include a battery. Well, it does. So, my purchase of 4 batteries was essentially unnecessary but hey, I got the Amazon ones for like $10 or whatever. I probably would have held off on additional batteries had I know it included one. The Bushnell unit I had would last a year or more (30+ rounds) on a battery so, now I have spares to give to buddies. I'll update this review after a winter golf trip and/or next season if there are any changes in my opinion. For $170, if it lasts a couple of seasons, seems like a reasonable buy.

Great value, does the job
After having my Bushnell Tour swiped, I needed a rangefinder but wasn't in the mood to spend a lot. I was pleasantly surprised to find this on sale for $169 and went for it. Overall I am very happy with the purchase, as it does the job, but it is not a Bushnell. It can be slow to lock to a pin, but it does get it. This also gives you effective yardage, which is a cool feature for the money. The magnet is awesome for carts and it is small and easy to fit anywhere. In short, it does the job just fine. That said, there are so many GPS systems out there that this is almost irrelevant 80% of the time. Carts have GPS and there are a ton of apps, including the free one from GHIN which is great. They do what this can't, and that is give front/back green and hazard distances. More often than not, knowing front of green is 10x more important than pin unless greens are sponges and/or you are close. This is a good tool, but players who look at pin distance only aren't getting enough data.

Easy for an amateur like me to use
Simple to use, compact, nice carrying case and accurate. I was amazed at how it could lock on to the flag after giving me a couple of seconds to point, even with my shaky hands! WAY better than I had even hoped for!!!

Pretty good range finder
I'm an avid golfer and a rangefinder is a must have. I have a garmin watch that usually gives me some distances but I use the range finger when I need an exact distance with slope. The Callaway Golf 300 Pro Rangefinder provides accurate distances with some cool features. It'll vibrate to let you know that the laser is locked so you can get your distance. You can also get a slope measurement or even turn it off. It's on the pricier side and doesn't seem worth it unless you can really hit your distances. The magnet that's built in is pretty strong and won't fall off. Actually it's a problem because I keep leaving the dang thing in carts; I'd recommend writing your number on the thing or add a sticker. I've left it at least 5x and the pro shop calls me every time. Highlights - Pulse technology - vibrates when locked so you can trust the distance - Strong magnet so you can keep it on your cart - Seemingly accurate distances (unless I actually measured it, which I'm not going to, I trust it); seems to coincide well with my Garmin that uses GPS. Overall, it's a really solid range finder. I don't recommend it for beginners who are just starting because it's got features that you probably won't make use of but as you get better and take into account slope; it's worth the price tag.

works well and worth a little extra money
Worth paying a little bit more. High-quality and easy to lock in on the pin.

Seems to work well, small, easy to use.
My first range finder and happy with my choice. Only been using a few weeks so canโt assess durability. Seems well made. Iโve had no problems picking up pins though sometimes you have to take a couple of readings to make sure itโs not targeting the background (but Iโm told by experienced users that that is normal). I like that it has a jolt or buzz when it finds a target. Iโm happy I selected a model with slope and that I can turn it off for tournament play. The price was good for the quality and features. Bottom lineโฆI recommend this product.

Excelente finder con โSLOPEโ. Recomendadisimo!
Si el campo en el que juegas NO ES PLANO entonces recomiendo muchisimo este finder con capacidad para medir distancias reales con la funcion de SLOPE. Una maravilla. Si juegas en campos planos, con cualquier GPS y app del celular es suficiente.
