Velox Wireless Air Vent Mount

This thing was great when my phone used a normal phone case. The magnets are quite strong with a thing case, and still relatively strong with a standard case. However, since I switched to a Quad Lock case, the charging function no longer works. The case is simply too thick for this to work effectively when it comes to charging. The QL case has it's own set of magnets in the case which amplified the grip strength to the magnetic connection which is great peace of mind.As long as you verify your case is not too thick, this is a great choice if vent mounts are the only effective option for you.

I’ve never had a phone with wireless charging but just recently went from Android to the “Dark Side”. That would be iPhone 14 Pro Max, 2 of them actually. His and Hers, so to speak. So I’ve had to change out my car chargers. With my Android phones (Huawei’s, guess China won’t be reading my texts anymore) I had vent holders that held my phone with some arms and you would attach a wired charging cable directly to the phone. Well, moving up to wireless charging using Apple’s MagSafe I found that I didn’t need a vent mount with arms just one that had a good magnet. I’ve heard of iOttie and I did some research. Good reviews, nice clean design and surprise surprise, it works. According to the reviews that is. So being cautious I order one and put it in my wife’s car. Yeah, “hey Mikey” so to speak. Came by Amazon delivery, a truck no drone…Dang! Packaging is very reminiscent of Apple packaging which is to say nice and neat. Charger is pretty minimalistic, kind of a blue/gray puck that doesn’t shout at you. Cable is attached to the puck and the other end is usb-c that connects to a lighter plug (included) that goes in your lighter socket. I’ve got two older cars that don’t have usb-c plugs so I can’t say if you could bypass the cigarette plug and go direct to usb-c so you’re on your own in that regard. Set it up in the wife’s car and slapped on my brand spanking new iPhone 14 Pro Max with a MagSafe case. Works like a charm. You don’t really have to slap the phone on you just hold it up close and it just kind of gets sucked on to the puck. The only criticism is how to stiffen up the mount. It attaches to the vent with it’s fingers but when you put the iPhone 14 Pro Max on it the puck face droops down a bit. Have to realize how heavy that Pro Max is. I’ve tried removing the mount and turning the ball socket at the rear to see if I could tighten it up but that doesn’t seem to work. It’s not a big deal but I’d like to get it at the absolute perfect position but it keeps eluding me. As I said, not a huge deal but wish it had this adjustment feature. Now realize that this thing charges at like 7.5 W so it’s not fast charging but it is charging. After deciding that it was well made, looked good, and it worked I bought a second one for my car. Guess that says it all. Can’t go wrong with this charger. “Yum yum, get you some”. Cheers

This one holds my phone in place with no issue. I have a popsocket adhesive ring on the back of my Pixel phone since my phone isn't MagSafe. As long as I put my phone on this on the right spot, it holds with no issue.What's more, it charges my phone at a surprisingly fast speed. It was a little warm after 1.5 hours of driving, but not too bad. It also turns to landscape with ease (but you can also put your phone on the magnet horizontally).It was easy to install, and fits snugly into my car vent. I've included a picture of everything in the box.I do suggest leaving the paper ring the wire is wrapped around on until you get it into your car, then tear away what you don't need. The cable is long and doesn't have a built in wrap.I was between buying this one and a different brand, but very happy with this choice and would highly recommend.

Strong magnet, holds very well iPhone 15 pro & 16.One star down due to the very low charging.

I have used the old one for more than 3 years. The knob is losing the strength. It can’t secure anymore. So that I purchased the second one. This one is way smaller than the old one and still provides the same functionality. The new one has a better and stronger iPhone magnetic suction. Even though I saw Amazon say it’s frequently returned product but I still like it.

This mount is nice for all MagSafe compatible devices like the iPhone 12 and 13 devices. It’s nice that it charges your device and holds it perfectly if you have a MagSafe compatible case like the oem clear case for the iPhone 13Pro. It was really easy to install and because of the magnet in the mount it holds your phone on your vents nicely and securely. Going over bumps and stuff on the road is no problem. My phone has never fell off of the mount. I can’t give this mount a 5 star rating because 1) it gets warm if you have had the device on the mount for a period longer than 30 minutes and 2) if you have the heat blowing your iPhone will eventually stop working because it gets too hot which is not good. Your iPhone will shut down if it’s too hot so you’ll have to be careful of how hot your phone gets because the heat created by the mount carry’s over to your phone even with a case on but I would imagine it’s fine during the summer time or unplug the mount periodically which to me defeats the purpose. There are other devices out there a little cheaper and works better I would hope. That’s why it’s a 4 star mount for me. If it didn’t get so hot then it would be a perfect mount for me because I bought two. One for me and one for my wife.Update: 2/26/2022Dear iOttie,I’m sorry but I have to leave a negative review for your product because 1) it’s expensive and 2) it causes your phone to overheat to the point it gets really hot to the touch. I have owned every iPhone model ranging from the iPhone 4 to the 13Pro with the exception of the iPhone 10 and 12. After an hour long trip in 80 degree weather and the AC blowing in my car the charger made the phone extremely hot. To the extent I couldn’t hold on to the phone and the phone shut down. This was extremely dangerous because I was on a road trip and I didn’t know where I was going. It was with my iPhone 13Pro. I had to use my wife’s 13PM for the remainder of the trip. I am long pass the return period and I am stuck with this POC and I’m not happy about it. I am going to end up not plugging it in because the magnet is good and it holds the phone but it does not charge correctly.

Worked well , until it stopped charging in a bout a month

Love this thing. When I first set it up, I was concerned because it seemed like my phone wasn't very secure or maybe the magnet wasn't very strong. But once I got out on the road, that concern went away. I've been driving for 2 days now over some very bumpy roads and on very stiff suspension: and my phone hasn't fallen off of it a single time.Other than that, it charges very quickly and it feels/looks very premium. It does get a bit warm but not enough for me to be worried. But if you're concerned about your phone overheating, maybe run your heater through the floor vents or defroster while you're using this thing.

hält bei meinem iPhone wirklich gut und lässt sich gut in die Lüftungsschlitze stecken. Ist beim fahren sehr stabil. Allgemein besser als gedacht.

Edit: the charger is perfect in terms of quality and functionality. Just make sure to use another charging adapter that is compatible.Old review: The magnetic holder is strong but the wireless charging disconnects so often.

Rubbish, the lead broke within a week, rendering the item useless, do not buy..!
