My question is, is this product worth it?** A: I honestly don't know where you got that information. Maybe those folks were thinking of another brand. I bought one for my studio and have been married 21 years and suddenly I have a harem of gfs to the point that I can't remember all their names! And the best part is my wife is ok with it because it gives her bragging rights!!! If you have the money and need the freedom of movement it's absolutely worth every single penny. It's so light you forget you have it on and it's very durable. Every feature meticulously thought through. I even hooked up a USB 3 hub for the vive trackers and It sits perfectly in the "cage" area without causing a problem or losing power. I recommend spending extra on the extra batteries and 4 pack charger though I have yet to drain any battery during a session it's nice during party games knowing you don't have to worry about running out of juice. The system is optimized and smooth as silk. Even Better than a vr ready laptop I spent more on. It's also upgradeable for extra ram or an extra drive. Downsides are few but there are a couple. Mainly it's windows so you have to start from scratch nothing is just ready to go. So keyboard mouse and screen are required at first. But once I set it up I use my phone as the monitor and a tiny wireless keyboard/trackpad on the very few occasions I need to reset steam (steams fault. Not the machine. ) but I'm so glad there isn't the bulk of a laptop monitor or keyboard because I barely ever use them. I have a big friggin universe office now with multiple 20 foot screens and white boards all over my space that I can easily walk to without tripping over a wire. I've been an animated film producer and tech guru for 20 years and can readily say that it's one of the most well thought out pieces of equipment I've ever purchased for a specific reason. I doubt you'll be disappointed if you get it. **Q: Can this be used as a normal desktop? Wearing it as a backpack makes you look like a loser** A: This is way over priced to use as a normal desktop. You could save a grand and just buy a desktop instead of this.
