**Q: how well do these hold up?**
A: I only had them for a few months and so far the hold up well. I did a lot of walking in them during a recent trip and they are very comfortable.  The leather is scuff resistant.

**Q: what does c/d us mean?**
A: This would be the width of the shoe C is narrower than D

**Q: What's up with the sole? Why do they wear down so quickly according to reviews?**
A: softer sole faster wear, just like tires or any wear related item

**Q: Does anybody wear this for hallux rigidus?**
A: I don’t have that, fortunately, but I’ll say these shoes are some of the most comfortable I’ve ever owned. Typical of Clarks. Perhaps these and a therapeutic insole would be sufficient.
