Question 2

I replaced this valve and now have air trapped. loud water hammer. bleeding the normal way doesn't help. how do i bleed the other lines?

Welcome to the hammer noise Jay:  First of all the noise is not caused by the valve you replaced but from the one on the storage tank.  
a.  shut off the valve on the storage tank and turn on the water faucet to see if it stops.
     if so it's the valve on the storage tank.
b.  How old is the storage tank.  If 3 or more years replace the tank because the 
     bladder goes bad and loses pressure.  If you remove the valve stem and black 
     juice comes out the bladder has failed. If not I found the tank dry air pressure has 
     to be between 5 to 7 lbs. when empty of water.  Mine is at 6 psi.  Need a low 
     pressure tire gauge.  You might also have to replace the shut off valve on your 
     tank.
     lots of steps but mine stopped hammering when work was done.

To be honest I’ve had a lot of problems with this whole design. They don’t last long for me and it’s not this manufacturer I’m referring to. I’ve bought others and I have the same  problem over and over. I just chuck them and buy a new one. 3 months later I do it again. Mine is set up on a reef tank for replenishment.

I installed the 4-way valve, but water keeps draining unless I disconnect the booster pump, what should I do?
