Place the mat on your kitchen counter, on the sofa, or in front of the Christmas tree to keep curious pets away. The mat uses a battery-operated controller featuring an LCD display. The LCD display shows the battery level, correction level and a counter so you can see how many times your pet steps on the mat. Its easy to adjust the correction level of the training mat depending on your pets needs. The 7 correction modes allow you to set the correction to tone only, 3 levels of static only or 3 levels of static plus tone. The mat has a safety timeout feature, so if your pet keeps their paws on the mat for more than 8 seconds, the mat will stop correcting your pet before repeating the cycle. Pawz Away and ScatMat barriers cover a larger area with a safe static correction while SSSCAT Spray will provide a harmless spray correction to a smaller targeted area. **Q: Is the spray emitted by SSSCAT safe for my pets?** A: Absolutely. The SSSCAT Spray is designed to be safe for both pets and humans. The odorless, stainless spray complies with safety regulations, ensuring it's a harmless deterrent when used as directed. **Q: Can the SSSCAT Spray help train my pet to avoid certain areas permanently?** A: Yes, with consistent use, the SSSCAT Spray can effectively train your pets to stay away from off-limits areas, reducing repeat behavior over time. **Q: Do the Pawz Away systems emit a warning beep before a correction?** A: Yes, the pet barrier collar emits a series of beeps when your pet enters the restricted area, followed by a safe yet attention grabbing static correction if they do not leave. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth every penny — and my Boston Terrier agrees (begrudgingly) *by on Reviewed in the United States 20 May 2026* I bought the 46" x 3" ScatMat to keep my Boston Terrier off my desk while I work. If you know this breed, you know that “No!” is more of a suggestion than an actual boundary — assuming they’re listening at all.I filmed her first encounter with the mat, and the sequence is comedy gold: initial attempt, a second “maybe if I try it this way” approach, and finally a dramatic sigh before she resigns herself to her bed under the desk. The whole thing took a little over four minutes in real time, but I sped up the middle so the video is about 37 seconds. Her annoyed exhale after the first try is priceless. The 46" x 3" strip is perfect for blocking the exact area I needed without taking over the whole desk. It requires a 9‑volt battery (not included), but once you pop that in, setup is simple — just snap the control unit onto the strip. The mat stays clean easily; a quick wipe removes dust or dog hair, and spills. The strip is low‑profile, so in terms of comfort it doesn’t interfere with my workspace or feel bulky on the desk. This version gives the option of static correction or audible alarm only, so it’s a safe, low‑stress way to teach boundaries without startling or hurting your pet. Past experience with a similar type of deterrent for my sofa tells me the alarm is essential at first, but once pets understand the boundary, the strip itself becomes enough of a visual reminder that they avoid the area even when the alarm is turned off.Experience also tells me the key to longevity is avoiding creases. Roll it loosely if you need to store it and don’t put anything heavy on top. Treated that way, these mats last.Solid 5 stars. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ pricey, very effective but the circuit lines are pretty widely spaced *by on Reviewed in the United States 30 April 2025* I have a big window in the living room that has a 4" wide sill and my loveseat sits right in front of it. All of my dogs inevitably stand on the back of the couch and put their front paws on the sill to look out the window. This is a problem because a) they dirty up the sill (the couch is covered) and b) I have a set of sheers that are always closed and they step on them getting them dirty, tearing them or sometimes pulling them down off of the curtain rod. It's very annoying and difficult to train them from doing. This product is really useful for that. Set up is easy with a 9v battery for power and then you just lay it on the area you want to protect. There are suction cups to hold the sheet in place. On the sheet are two exposed wires running its length. When something that can conduct power crosses those wires, it creates a circuit and a mild shock is delivered. You can set the level of shock and I put it to the minimum. I tested it on myself and it was a little more painful than a static discharge from a high pile carpet. The biggest issue for me was the distance between the wires. It's wide enough that a small dog is unlikely to cover both with their paw and even a larger dog like mine (70 lbs) took a few days before she completed the circuit. When she did (the display shows how many times a shock has been delivered), the result was almost instantaneous - she no longer puts her feet on the sill. It's pretty miraculous. Getting her to do anything is usually an exercise in futility but this product definitely did the trick. Too bad you can't just rent them as it doesn't seem like reinforcement is necessary, I guess it will just go into a drawer somewhere.Highly recommended with the caveat about the spacing of the wires. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Product but Beware of Smart Dogs *by on Reviewed in the United States 7 March 2025* Great product, but my puppy is just too smart. I have a 4 month old Giant Schnauzer who very quickly figured out that the strip/box means that she will get shocked, so she simply avoids it. We only have one as they are too expensive to cover our counters, so we move it to various parts of the counter - if she sees it on one counter, she'll just go to a different one. I'm convinced as well that even if we did cover all parts of the counter, that as soon as we thought she was "trained" and removed them, she'd just jump right back up.She has also realized that if she does not put her entire paw up on the counter (the current flows through the two center seams but is set off a few inches from the edge) that she is fine. So, she started just putting the tips of her front paws up on the counter/on the edge of the strip and she doesn't get shocked. It works well, the lowest shock setting really isn't too bad (I tested it) and was effective at getting her off the counter the 2-3 times that she made enough contact for it to shock her. Just consider your dog's intelligence and problem-solving skills before you invest too much in these. ## Frequently Bought Together - PetSafe ScatMat Indoor Electric Training Mat for Cats & Dogs, Strip, 46" x 3" - Amazon Basics 8-Pack 9V Alkaline Batteries, 5-Year Shelf Life - for Smoke/CO Detector, Electronics & Audio --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.in/products/370345499-petsafe-scatmat-indoor-training-mat-7-correction-modes-protect-your](https://www.desertcart.in/products/370345499-petsafe-scatmat-indoor-training-mat-7-correction-modes-protect-your) --- *Product available on Desertcart India* *Store origin: IN* *Last updated: 2026-10-24*
