Review: Thicker than it appeared. - I bought two of these 27" x 12" fireproof felt type mats for a benchtop welding plate I was making. The packages arrived very quickly after ordering in perfect condition. I placed them on a 2 foot x 2 foot piece of 1/2-inch thick MDF and then placed the 2 foot x 2 foot piece of 22 gauge steel sheet on top. This combo worked perfectly to let me low temp weld aluminum extrusion square tubing together without burning my workbench. The pads are thicker than I thought they would be from the photos.
Review: Worked great to protect the wall behind where I soldered. - Worked as expected. Would definitely recommend. Got very red while I was soldering but did not burn the wall. Might need to put tin foil behind it if you're soldering on wood.

I bought two of these 27" x 12" fireproof felt type mats for a benchtop welding plate I was making. The packages arrived very quickly after ordering in perfect condition.
