I have an older TV without an HDMI connection.** A: YES it does have red, white and yellow cables! Philips DVD player just came in yesterday and I opened the box and sadly discovered that it did NOT have Blue, Red and Green Cable inputs but this dvd player has ONLY Red, Yellow and White cable inputs. I am sending back because someone on here gave me a bum steer and said this player had red, blue, and green inputs and it does NOT. **Q: Does the player have hdmi connection?** A: No. If I had known that fact I would not have purchased this. That and the fact that it plays no more file formats than the much older Philips player I had (with hdmi) makes this player basically useless to me despite the low price. **Q: Does this play region 2 dvds** A: Yes - that's the main reason I got this DVD player, because I have a lot of UK DVD's. It plays them no problem. **Q: The description states "Conversion Compatible." What does that mean?** A: This DVD player is NTSC (National Television System Committee) and PAL (Phase Alternating Line) Conversion Compatible which means that there are differences in frames per second by televisions in different parts of the world. I purchased a LMN movie that was recorded in the Netherlands and it plays great on this DVD player because it is a multi region player. Most DVD players just play Region 1 and 2. This one plays all regions. Bought it late February of this year, and by October 2, it stopped working. Couldn't turn it on. Couldn't open the drawer to put in a CD. Put new batteries in remote. Checked the plug. Nothing helped. We did not use it very often, maybe no more than 20 times. I'd like to talk about a refund.
